After Lavar comment...
What you think if LAL trade Zo, Deng and Cavs pick to ATL for Schroeder?
LAL get good PG, create cap space for 2 max contract and send Lavar away...

No. That's bad for the Lakers and really overrating Schroeder who's in the mid to low tier of starting point guards.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

If the Lakers for sure knew that LBJ would be coming, I would trade Lonzo for the pick. However, that'd be about the only reason I would do it as him and James would be a bad fit and and the pick would allow them to go get talent at a different position (or they could send it elsewhere and get LeBron a friend).

LeBron's a Ball Family fan... He gets Lavar... LeBron's statements about the NBA are all about trying to promote players individually to get the most money possible for themselves. That's essentially what Lavar is trying to do too...
Look at his history... LeBron has never cared much about the NBA or what team he's on, or the fans... He cares about his legacy and his money... Everything he's done has been calculated to increase both.
Can you think of a better match for Lavar than that? They're made for each other... More importantly, Lavar and Rich Paul are made for each other... And Rich Paul looks to be wanting to get some of that Cali Life...

Point being, I think trading Lonzo, would almost guarantee LeBron goes to anywhere but LA.

Ingram can play off LeBron just fine... PG can fit in too... I know everyone loves Kuz, but I just think he becomes more of an asset if we get Lebron+... Nobody's going to be too concerned how he feels about coming off the bench for those guys...
Ball is almost certain to be a cornerstone going forward... Maybe Ingram too... Beyond that, ain't nobody losing any sleep about any of our "Young Future."
Never have rice at Hanzo's house...

LOL WTF? No pun intended ... But Lebum isn't going to come to Lakers and say Look they traded Lonzo let's team up with Ingram/Kuzma? ... His coming here because of Lonzo ... Lonzo will give him an added 2+ years, i think he only has 3 years max left in him, especially if he doesn't win in CAV land - If he doesn't come to LA he'll go to Hou/spurs or other contenders to win. With out Lonzo we're nothing and he would assume the same thing unless family comes into play.

Edit: I don't want Lebum only because his on the end of his career if he was like 28 or something then maybe I'd consider it, but I want stars who are under 30 and can run and gun with this team in the long term and can last another 5+ years and become good vet leaders etc - another reason I liked the Idea of George/Cousins? Cousins no longer an options unless on the cheap, but George is still possible. Not sure who else is a good fit in the next 2 seasons

Because he is the reason for the season. Our entire culture changed due to his presence. Look past his father and you have a pass first point guard that plays defense at 6'6''. Sure there are some good bigs in this draft, but Lonzo is rare.

I think this is really overstating Ball's impact. Especially when you consider he's missed almost as many games as he's played, including our most successful stretch of the season. Not that we're winning because he's hurt; of course not. But it's a huge stretch to ascribe some sort of mythical culture boost to one player in a season that a couple of our previous lottery picks have continued to improved, and added several other quality picks. Otherwise, he contributes in a lot of other ways, and hurts us in a few others. He's got the makings of a really unique player, but even with some modest improvement before he got hurt, he's got a long way to go as a shooter, which is ultimately what will determine his true value.

As such, you'd have to think long and hard about moving him for one of those slots, in this particular draft. Put another way: I'd pretty much guarantee there isn't a team in the NBA that would trade one of those top three picks for Lonzo.

Crap I incorrectly voted in the poll!

But I don’t think your giving Lonzo enough credit here. He IS the reason the Lakers a popular team again. You may dislike his father but he IS the reason the Lakers are a highly talked about team among sports circles again. Before Lonzo came here, the Lakers quite frankly were a dead team that nobody cared or talked about. There’s a reason the Lakers use Lonzo’s face and name for all their marketing pitches now.

And if you truly think the bolded is true, ask yourself this...if Lonzo was in this draft, who do you think would go higher, Lonzo, Donicic or Trae Young? And in what order?

A. I do dislike LaVar, but I never mentioned him here. He has nothing to do with his son's impact on the court.

B. Similarly, marketing has absolutely nothing to do with our on-court performance. I couldn't care less about that.

C. Looking at several mocks, Young probably won't go top five. Doncic is another story, but this draft is top-heavy with several bigs I would absolutely take over Ball -- Ayton, Bagley, even Jackson after reading about him recently.

NO. We have a true pass-first, defensive-minded PG for the next 15 years. He is untouchable, hopefully.
