IT was trash and I'm one of his biggest defenders. S**t happens, you move on. He isn't going to have THAT type of night again the rest of the season.

Tough one. Too many turnovers, gave up too many offensive rebounds.

On a positive note -- Here's Randle's stats the month of March.

23.3 PPG, 9.7 RPG, 3.0 APG, 0.8 SPG, 60.6 FG%, 76.7 FT%

That is just insane.

Insane indeed. But I would love to see an improvement in his FT%. If the Lakers are going to build their future on Randle (I truly hope they do) I hope he works on it.

My observations of the game.
Defense was OK at best. Too often our bigs were the breakdown internally. Communication issues/switches were the largest culprit.
Kuzma with only 10 shots and 4 of those in the last 4 minutes. Randle and IT largely play isolation ball and create off of action to the hoop. This leaves Kuz with long gaps in touches. I think I counted a combined 7 minutes of playing time where he had only 1 touch offensively and that was an assist. Rather than ball movement on the perimeter we were getting it primarily off the drive last night.
Ball with 15 shots. Not sure this is what we should be promoting. Good that he shoots to keep teams honest but at this point he should be at about 8-10 shots at most.
Turnovers. Everyone had one. The primary ball handlers had way too many (11).

I don't mind the last play of the game. IT is good at getting his shot. I actually prefer that to Ingram's end of the quarter attempts. Randle may have been a better option but he's limited to shots at the hoop and isn't a guy who can score from multiple locations. Kuzma might have been a decent option as well.

Not happy with last nights game at all. Was just ugly. Both teams looked like a pick-up squad for large portions. You'd have no idea that these guys play together.

I also have a big issue with the last play. Had we of won.....we'd be 7 games behind the Spurs with 13 to play (we are 8 now). Even if we went 13-0.....the Spurs aren't going 5-8 to miss out. In other words....we're done. It's been a great year. We really took some strides. I am a very happy Laker fan, and looking forward to this offseason.....but there's no chance of a playoff run.

So why are we giving IT the final shot? Talk about a missed opportunity for Ball...for Kuz.....for Randle.

If I had been Luke, I woulda given this moment to one of the young guys. I woulda drew something up for them, and I woulda shot IT that look....."you and I know your not here next year...so you know why I'm giving them this shot. If you take it....not one more minute this season".

Really shoulda beat that team. Step back game. And missed opportunity to boot. And I gotta stew on this all weekend.

The play was drawn up for Randle ... it was shut down. Ball and Kuz cannot create their own shot in that situation. IT is the only one that could with 6-seconds left.

At 45% from the line Ball would be my last pick to get the ball much less the shot. Until he gets that up in the high 60's at least he's a Shaq style liability closing games out.

Kuzma would have been my pick of the guys on the floor. He can get his own shot and can score from anywhere. Randle needs to be at the hoop and IT needs space. Without Kuz in the last 3 minutes we don't even have a chance to win it at the end. He rose to the occasion after being frozen out for the majority of the game.

we should probably be blaming the team, giving up 20 turnovers and god knows how many offensive rebounds

i read somewhere that miami had 18 more offensive possession

and to only lose by a point was a minor miracle in itself

Lakers gotta get Brandon Ingram back simple as that. Also I think Brandon is our most important player. he does so much. he can score. he free's up others. go to scorer.

and simple as this Lonzo has got to work on his shooting. it's repetition. and he's got to show it. I'm done with the nonsense. Kevin Martin had a very unorthodox shot coming into the NBA in his career. and he was one of the best shooters and efficient shooters. prolific scorer. what's the difference between him and Lonzo Ball??????? Martin had a great handle but So does Lonzo he needs to figure out the shooting. this is the NBA and it's not like he can't do it. so something's up. that's not what I saw at UCLA.

NBA teams don't respect Lonzo as a shooter and he needs to start making teams respect him. until that happens he wont' have a midrange or any game going to the basket. and his confidence won't be there. that helps others. that's why Isiah plays a lot cause Luke needs a guy that other teams respect as a shooter that free's up others like Lopez and Randle and allows them to have great games simple as that. Brandon Ingram coming back will help that.

Lakers will be championship contenders when Lonzo works on his three point shot. Do a Curry. All summer he doesn't need to work on Defense screw all that Lavar Crap about being a Workout Maniac he needs to work on basic basketball fundamentals and for some reason he didn't do that. all of his ability he needs to get that shooting down. hire a coach and just lock your ass in the Gym all summer league. be Kobe just shoot the ball get that shlit right.

Back to the game. it was good. can't get mad at Isiah cause he won us the game in Miami now he's too short. he does his bonehead stuff but that's expected. he didn't make the shot it happens they'll be back.

Randle Randle Forget Fluck all the free agents You need to be signed ASAP. he is now a 25 and 10 a game player. well you forced Rob and Magic to open the Brinks truck and pay you. can't argue with that. drafted by us and needs to be a Laker. I think Luke did a great job with him. he'll never have touch like a lopez but at least he looks like a top nba player.

Lopez come back what a skilled center he's finally in his groove and now it looks like we have a center we can put with these other guys. we aren't making the playoffs but hey boston aint getting a great pick from us.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
