Trade for Wiggins if we can't get both max players

Post#1 » by Spens1 » Tue Mar 20, 2018 4:27 am

I know this idea is going to get a lot of hate but, lets say we're unable to get both max slots filled, maybe even neither (both Lebron and PG Stay), would it be outrageous for us to trade for Wiggins on the cheap.

Ball-Wiggins-Ingram-Kuzma-Randle/Lopez

That makes us a lot better and there's a few things in his favour

1. He'd be the #1 option (no disrespect to Ingram but Wiggins has been putting up big numbers regardless)
2. Walton has the knack of getting the best out of players (look at everyone we have, he can extract that talent)
3. Wiggins raw talent, he has been touted before this season as a top 5 talent potentially, maybe we help him realise that.

Obviously we wouldn't be trading core pieces to get him in theory, because this for Minnesota would be more about dumping salary than neccesarily the return (Maybe they agree a deal for KCP and we can S&T him out perhaps).

I thought we already got rid of guys that don’t like working hard. Maybe Brooklyn can trade for him and get the all slacker team
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

If you had Wiggins on your team....would you trade him for a KCP s&t? You can bet teams will try and do an enticing S&T with Minn. I'm not against getting him (I'm not super into getting him) but I just think we're gonna have to do better than a KCP sign & trade.

Not "hating" your idea....but I think your gonna need to be a little more realistic about what it would take to get him. There are alot of teams who'd love to get him.

You are **** tripping. I would not take Wiggins over Kuzma, let alone Ingram.

No thanks.

Kuzma isn't better than Wiggins is now on talent alone. Kuzma will be but not right now. The case between Ingram and Wiggins can be made. Fact of the matter is, Wiggins maybe taking the most shots but he still has two other big time players with him. Ingram is the guy and is averaging 16PPG, which is a huge jump but is 2PPG less than Wiggins and both have similarish shooting percentages.

Hmmm.. I'm not so against this idea. Another guy to grow with the young core. He gets up and down and ideally would be another shooter. With that said, his 3PT and FT% have dropped significantly. I'd take the gamble, however. He's still really young.

But I'm also the guy would love to absorb Nic Batum + Malik Monk into our cap space if no stars come this off-season.

Ingram is a far superior playmaker, defender and rebounder than Wiggins RIGHT now, 20 yrs old, skinny as **** and in his 2nd year.
And Wiggins is not a world class scorer to compensate for this other shortcomings, I'd argue they're close right now and Ingram will be far better beginning of next year.

What does Wiggins do well really?

Unless I had a third team willing to take Wiggins for salary relief, I would rather keep Deng cause I know I can stretch him wit relative ease.
