Luol Deng and 2018 1st Round Pick via Cleveland for Tyson Chandler, Jared Dudley, and 2018 second round draft pick via Toronto

I've also seen trade deng and the Cavs pick for Asik on other forums.....less guaranteed dollars but I'm not sure if stretching Asik will be enough to have 2 max spots and keep Julius.

No, but it's close enough.

If LeBron and George both won't accept losing a million dollars (yes 1 million over 3 years) to play with Randle, you gotta wonder about their heads in all this

in fact, because the cap in 2019/20 is 108 million, an increase of roughly 6.93% from 2018/19, them taking a smaller deal, then opting out for their max (35%/30% of the 108 mil cap, we could re-sign them with non-Bird rights) would be a larger pay rise than what we could offer to pay them this offseason with 5% raises

heck, incredibly unrealistic, but this means if lebron and george take small 1 year pay cuts (4 and 3 mil respectively), the lakers wouldn't even need to find a taker for deng, just waive and stretch, and have all the trade chips for a 3rd superstar (randle, cleveland 1st, lakers 2019 or 2020 first, denver 2nd, chicago 2nd)

I think Brooklyn Demarre Carroll trade is best starting point. He was traded in a salary dump. Brk did not need him and only valued the picks received. While I acknowledge Carroll is better than Deng, keep in mind Brk had to wait a year for both picks. Lakers can trade 2018 picks. Brk basically bought a 1st and a 2nd. Carroll was the payment. 2nd rd picks are worth a max 3.5M.
Maybe Brk will buy picks from Lakers again. They feel Tor trade was a steal for them. Lakers can offer something similar. Lakers can can draft on Brk behalf and trade will be final Jul 1. It's been done before. NBA allows it. Lakers drafted Tony Douglas in 09 even though they had sold pick to NYK earlier. Became official after draft when new NBA year started.

Brk loved this trade last year-
Tor dumps Carroll 30.2M
Brk saves Hamilton salary sent back to Tor 3M
Brk bought 2nd rd pick (3.5M value)
Balance = Brk essentially bought Tor 1st rd pick for 23.7M in dump salary

2018 version with Lakers
Lakers dump Deng 36.81M
Lakers include max cash 5.1M
Net dump 31.71M
Include Den '18 2nd rd Pk 3.5M Value
Include Chi '19 2nd rd Pk 3.5M Value
Include Cav '18 1st Rd rd pick which ends up costing - 24.7M in dump salary
=pretty close trade

And Brk waiting 1 year less for 2 picks goes towards Deng not being as good as Carroll. And Cle pick and Den pick are higher picks than respective Tor picks. In the end it's all about buying the picks which is what Brk wants to do. Since they have Moz, might as well add more salary during those two years.

I have a feeling we'll send him to Atlanta with the Cleveland 1st and a 2nd from either Denver or Chicago.
