So if Zubac has done enough to trust him (LOL), then wouldn’t you say that Lonzo has done enough to not draft another pg, Hart had done enough not to draft another sg, Ingram had done enough not to draft another sf, Kuzma has done enough not to draft another pf.....

Considering the team has more promising players at every other position, and is targeting star wings in free agency, seems to make sense they wouldn’t rule out taking a big man.

Difference is we have Zubac and Bryant from 2 consecutive years. Clearly if we've got bigger fish to fry than drafting centre year after year, we need depth at both guard positions as well as S.F. more than we need another project centre.

Depending on who the Lakers sign in free agency. Both LeBron and George can overlap SF along with Ingram. And all three of these guys can make the PG position more of a SG function. Gotta think more in terms of function for the team rather than position. And potential matchups with the elite. And in that respect I think the Lakers lack a rim protector.

This is why I’d rather see us get a rim protecting and screen setting Capela or Nurkic and add filler veterans at 1, 2, 3 (Rondo, T Evans, Ariza) behind our star youth. Then, and first then, add LBJ and/or George, (S&T Randle plus Zubac plus Deng’s expiring and a 2nd rounder to open up enough cap? If Randle goes where Deng goes, I’d like to have more horses in the young center race, too. I think he will.

Even without the two stars PG or LBJ, this team goes to the second round in the West and could easily catch fire in the playoffs:

PG: Lonzo, Rondo, Caruso

SG: Tyreke, Hart, Ingram

SF: Ingram, Ariza, Kuzma

PF: Kuzma, Randle, Bryant
(or: LBJ, Kuzma, Bryant)

C: Randle, Zubac, Robinson
(or: Capela/Lopez, Zubac, Bryant)

With LBJ and a legit C and a few role players (can only happen if Deng is traded), we could contend in the West next season.
Since the 1976 merger LAL 11, CHI 6, BOS 6, SAS 5, GSW 4

PG: Luka / Vincent / Bronny
SG: Smart / Reaves / Knecht / Mañon
SF: LaRavia / Rui / Thiero
PF: Bron / Vando / Kleber
C: Ayton / Hayes / Koloko

Man

I hate to do this... but...

I have read up on this kid/ watched a few videos

So, the whole not playing last season, I can excuse it. It’s not like he was suspended for anything bad. (He just left campus without permission) . Bad for development, but not a indicator of a red flag for some personal problems

We see his size, great size. It says he is athletic, but you don’t really know until you see him run and jump. He moves so smooth. No jerky motions like with some big men, smooth and fast. And he can rapid jump. He can land and reload and jump again really fast! He is on the pogo stick out there! Shooting form looks good as well. He can hit the three pointer.

Some nice def instincts as well.

I’m completely sold on him at 25

I’ll probably find a half other dozen prospects that I will fall in love with, but Robinson is a great prospect!!! Could make us forget zubac and Bryant quick

Just a smooth center. Lakers haven’t had a smooth athletic center like that’s since.... well, it’s been more than a couple decades
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

Magic and Pelinka probably have this guy penciled in if we're unable to dump Deng.

A Randle renounce, a Deng stretch, George and LeBron picked up we got:

Lonzo
PG/Hart
Ingram/
LeBron/Kuzma
Mitchell/Zubac/Bryant

5.56 mil in cap space left
Room MLE to fill out the roster.

Some weird comps in here. Andrew Bynum 2.0? DAVID ROBINSON? The easiest comp you can make at first glance is that he's a Capela, WCS or Deandre archtype. He's a rim runner that moods really fluid and can jump out the gym. I don't believe he's very skilled though. Which is ok, you don't need a C to create shots to be successful.

Do you remember Bynum as a 17 yo rookie?

Cos that's what I meant

Yes I do. Bynum was never considered a rim runner type and the league wasn't molding those type as starters back then. Bynum was also never as athletic as this dude. It's just a lazy fan comp. Typical insert Laker that played this position 10 years ago.

He is closer to a Miles Turner or Von Maker at this juntcture... I like the dude & don’t have an issue drafting the guy... I love Donte (so does Ainge) which makes me want Donte even more after Ainges recent draft picks... I would be very happy with either at 27...

I don't know about him and other teams but I think this was like a "pro day" kind of thing with him and two other players at this Sports Academy. Schmitz says there are nba teams present but doesn't go into who.
