With all this talk about going all in for PG/LeBron/Kawhi or whatever, I started to get this weird feeling that maybe Jeannie and the Buss kids have decided to sell, and are just focused on short term franchise value over long term championship aspirations...

Get LeBron, trade the kids for Kawhi (remove the polarizing Ball situation), sign PG, and make a run at the championship for a year or 2 then sell...

Yup.... Magic indicating that he will have a freshness date if it doesn't happen plays to this as well.

The only hole in that is that the Buss kids don't know how to do anything but check their trust funds. My guess is that they want to increase viewership so their local TV deal trends to the top end of the revenue mark. Also, can you imagine merchandise sales worldwide for getting instantaneously 3 top stars? Championships!.... who needs them? Ratings, exposure and buzz is worth more truth be said if you are in it for the money.

I have a hard time seeing Jeanie caving in to selling the team. Yeah, the two eldest have all the incentives in the world to do so, but the people running things, don't. Jeanie even less considering she doesn't have kids. I think when the two youngest brothers get older they'll be able to revisit this issue, but not now.

You gotta think Lebron is a part of that.

What's enticing to him coming to the Lakers is being part of ownership of the team when he retires. he can come in with a partner and own the team Phil Knight Nike they are already partners. maybe one of Lebron's business Titans he knows he can partner with.
