He literally said he's on pace to come back by training camp.

he also said in the same quote that the doctors dont know and that training camp is just a goal of his. i do think its possible hes back by the start of the season. i think rudy gay injured himself in the same month and returned by season opener.

Cousins signing for the MLE was pretty much a **** you to the league and all the team's that didn't offer a contract. We should have offered him a two year 50 million dollar contract with a team option in the 2nd year. Who knew he'd be gutless and sign with the Warriors.

My gut tells me even if he's healthy, this is going to be a 1 and done for Cousins in GS... I just don't see him ever becoming a full system guy... So much of his game depends on the freedom to play all over the court. It's a square peg thing IMO.

lebron needs to "retire" like jordan, take a year off, make a movie or two like space jam, come back next year, LA gets a top pick and cap space for another star

I couldn't possibly care less if I was him. Your hopes of a big pay day were dashed, so if you're stuck taking a cut-rate deal why not go have some fun and win a championship? It's going to be an insane experience.

I get all that. You could take it even a step further... even if I sit out the entire season there's still a pretty good chance i'll still have a ring. Clearly the urge to win a ring is far greater than actually competing. BTW I feel the same way about Durant so i'm not only holding it against Boogie.

Yeah, no offense, but I find these complaints to be sanctimonious and silly. If this was us, we'd be doing cartwheels up and down the block. Indeed, free agency has been a key instrument in our success. Now there's some invisible line where you can use that tool too much? I mean, a lot of it is just dumb luck: The cap spiking, Cousins getting hurt. But the Warriors put themselves in position by building a great roster, and they're reaping the rewards. There isn't a fan base in the NBA that wouldn't kill to be in that position.

No offense taken. I hear arguments like yours quite frequently. You do know it's possible to walk and chew gum at the same time so to speak. Of course I would be thrilled if we had a stacked team, but i'd also still think it's unfair/ridiculous. In fact I felt exactly this way when we got Payton and Malone. Those who think it's unfair for the Warrior yet fair for us if we had a stacked team would be hypocrites.

The premise of your argument is extremely flawed. Of course any fan base would be ecstatic to have such a team; it's preposterous to even think otherwise. Also, my beef is not with the Warriors; I don't think they did anything wrong. On the other hand, star players who decide to join these stacked team is another issue.

You probably misconstrued what I said with regard to the Warriors not feeling prideful about winning multiple championships. I stand by what I said. To clarify, the Warriors pre Durant and Boogie deserves every bit of credit for those championships.

While I find it repulsive to defend Cousins in any way I'd venture than anyone who is at the top of their profession would love to be among the best in their profession. I don't see how it's a smarter move to seek out less talent and less success if one has a choice.

This is ring chasing. Its more of, "the market is dry, not a lot of teams have money, so let me get to the best team, get a ring, and I get paid next year when everyone else does have money to spend."

GSW will not have anything to offer him near to what he should be earning. Even next year.

In a way, its good that GSW signed him because that means he will be available again next year. Again, getting a championship this year is a pipe dream. The win now that we are hearing is not necessarily win now to get a championship but win now to be competitive to show FAs next year (who will include DMC) that the Lakers are already relevant and are a piece or 2 away from competing. If Ingram takes a leap this year, then who knows, maybe our target should be DMC instead of KL.

No one called Cousins. Whoa.

If I was Cousins, I would have joined the Celtics, but then again Cousins made calls, called the GM, called the players that he knew and they made him feel wanted.
