Ok good, now i'm a lot happier with that move. I'd rather he develop here if he isn't playing for a bigger club in europe. We also need all the help we can get off the bench.

I can see Lonzo (if he's still here) starting but Rondo closing and having more minutes. All of the stuff thrown at Rondo he's still a very good floor general.

Lonzo isn't as polished yet in the half court as Rondo and with the older crew this year I can see us being slower and more deliberate on offense as well.

Lonzo was pretty clutch late in the game though and no one wants Rondo taking the last shot despite Zo's overall shooting woes

Not starting Lonzo would be a terrible business decision, just like how not starting and playing around with DLO was a terrible decision.

You only not start a young player with high upside if the alternatives are far better....you don’t do it to prove a point or get cute with his development. There is no reason to think that rondo starting ahead of Lonzo will significantly improve our performance. Finish the game with rondo and even give him more minutes, but unless rondo is back to his Celtic days, don’t destroy Lonzos value as an asset by benching him. I still think Randle coming off the bench half the season affected his value negatively to the point that we had no offers for him despite him actually playing well.

We either need Lonzo and Ingram to turn into stars, or we need them to be promising enough to trade for stars....starting rondo on a one year contract is just a terrible idea...again, play him more minutes if he’s playing better and let him finish games....and playoff time if him starting is the difference maker by all means sit Lonzo...

Honestly I’d also consider josh hart. If he really improves his handle this off season Josh Hart, Ingram, Lebron, Kuzma, McGee could be an interesting defensive team

I voted Lonzo. For one main reason: defense.

Rondo will still teach Lonzo plenty about defense, and he’ll make him earn every bit of being a starter, but Lonzo’s defense is hard to beat for any PG. Rondo can get his own showtime on against the second units of the league, and I’m sure he’ll finish many a game throughout the season.

Quite frankly we may not want either of them on the floor. Close games will mean something this year and both of them certifiably suck at Free Throws. We could see either of them subbed out offense/defense late in close games because of that.

We will see what happens. There was pressure to play Lonzo through the tough stretches last year because it was a throw away season. This season the pressure will be the other way when the FO is paying $154M for 4 years of Bron and Magic has all but promised contention soon.

We very well may see Ball on another team as well. I'm not sure the FO want's to wait any longer. His first month will be huge IMHO. If he's made the adjustments then he's the guy. If not then all bets are off.

Rondo should start at least until the All Star break.

Lonzo needs to delay his game until his knee is 100%.

There is no need to rush Lonzo. He can come off the bench and work on his shot, play defense and give Rondo sometime to work for his pay.

By the All Star break we will know if Lonzo is ready to play more.

Lonzo has never played an 82 game season.

Lonzo has never played playoff basketball.

Lonzo has lots of potential but he still has a lot of room for development.

Rondo should start.

I hear Lonzo has been studying film with Magic so he should keep studying work on his shot and build his stamina and learn to come off the bench for now.

Voted for Lonzo but I'm thinking Rondo will end close games. Or it depends on the match-up. If the opposing starting PG is small go with Rondo. If big (bigger / taller than Rondo) go with Lonzo. If Lonzo's injuries persists then at least we have Rondo to play the point. They are like 1A and 1B.

Yeah, will be drinking tonight too. It's Saturday and tomorrow is Sunday. There is no work so I can afford to have a hangover just in case I drink too much.

I doubt Rondo or Lonzo will close games. FT shooting liabilities and LBJ, even though I think he will play off ball often, is still clearly the best decision maker on the roster. I'd guess LBJ runs the point offensively while Hart or KCP defends the opposing PG.

A close game is more than just FT shooting. Given that Rondo and Ball are not very good on that department they can contribute more in other areas of the game. FT shooting is just a part. Not what it is all about.
