Value is tremendous right now. These stars want to come to LA because they understand Lonzo's hustle on defense and then they get the ball on offense too? These dudes are trying to get on this squad. The spot light would be huge.

I completely agree.
I’d bet that most NBA players would love to play with someone like Lonzo with his excellent passing skills and court vision. His ability to see plays develop and get the ball to people where they’d be most successful makes him someone that most anyone, including LBJ , would want to play with.
Value can be measured in many ways.
His trade value may arguably not be as high as someone like Tatum, but his value to a team I think is as high as anyone comingniff their rookie season.

you guys see the picture of Lonzo today from Cabo? He has definitely been hitting the weight room hard. Looks a lot bigger up top.

Lakers would be crazy to deal him now as opposed to waiting to see how good he is when he develops a bit more.

Lakers may not be the ones making the decisions soon.

His greatest value is his defense right now which is something perhaps not all fans watch but all GMs do. He’s a defensive beast and an incredible passer. This team was taking numbers before his second injury, they were playing extremely well with all starters healthy. His court vision is insane on both ends. If he’s bulked up enough to stay somewhat injury free next season, he’s gonna blow next season. As much as I love his court vision and passing ability, his vision and ability defensively is even better. We’re not giving him up in a trade unless it’s for some insane return, I’m sure of it.

Teams focused on taking Lonzo out of the game last season. Opposing guards wanted to humiliate him just to get their names in the headlines. I'd like to see them pull that crap with LBJ, PG13, and/or Kawhi on the court. Lonzo would be unleashed with that kind of talent around him. Be like UCLA all over again.

Read on Twitter

Rondo: "His [Lonzo's] IQ at 20 is probably one of the best I've ever seen or the game has ever seen"

But you figure with Lebron, his development is going to be more limited than it otherwise would be?

That is, he's not going to be running the offense as much if Lebron is handling the ball, getting the same usage rate as in Cleveland.

Now maybe he wants to offload some of the playmaking and be content to play off the ball. But now he's in sight of owning a lot of the all-time stats in league history. So is he going to want to give up accumulating the numbers at the rate he's been doing?

I agree his value is good right now, but once he gets another season under his belt he'll be untouchable. Right now, he's like a more dynamic Rubio. Not a knock on Ball, I think his offense will catch up to his defense. I think his 3ball is gonna be much better this year and much much better two years from now.

But hot damn... For Ball to come in his rookie year and become the best defensive point guard in the NBA is crazy. To be on that list with Rudy Gobert, Anthony Davis, Roberson, and Covington is insane. It just goes to show how great his defensive instincts and athleticism are.

I think his value to us is probably higher than his value around the league, because I think we have a vision of what he could be and see a future next to LeBron others aren't seeing... That combination probably makes him virtually impossible to trade... No way are we going to accept what others will offer...

Lonzo has a huge season ahead of him... He's got to learn how to lead an offense with LeBron on it... He's got to learn how to find LeBron when he's supposed to and pass on him when there's a better option, and not back down... Rondo can help him with that I think... But Luke is going to have to be a hell of a Coach too...
I think it's clear the FO thinks he can do it... It's going to be extremely interesting to watch the process.
He's going to have to keep his distance from LeBron a little bit to establish the room he needs to work as a successful on ball leader in this team...
That's got to be exciting and a little scary as hell for him.
Never have rice at Hanzo's house...

Anyone who has played hoops understands the value of Lonzo... A pass first PG that boards, plays defense and shares the ball is HUGE... I wouldn’t be honest without telling you I am concerned about his injuries... GM’s value him higher than the average fan...
