Luol Deng has been paid in this two years here 23.475 $ per minute played in a game and 82.412 $ per every point scored in a Laker jersey.

Just wanted to get that out of the way. I want him off the roster by any means necessary. Will go down as the worst contract in NBA history.

He made himself 99 OVR and won an MVP and a ring and all the accolades. And just as he's about to retire he puts his age at 19 so he dominates for full 80+ yrs that you can play :D

I'm waiting to hear what's the implication of using cap to sign Lance. It appears to me we've given up on trading for Kawhi until at least until December 15. I guess a multi-team trade is an alternative. In any event it seems using cap to sign Lance make things slightly more difficult to pull off a trade pre December 15.

The Lakers would've needed to input some 14-15 million in salary outgoing anyway.

The only way that could've been achieved was probably Deng. Which wouldn't have enamored the Spurs particularly much.

The other way it could've been done would've been Lonzo, Ingram and Kuzma/Hart. Clearly too far beyond what would've been acceptable from our end.

I do believe we could still do an Ingram for Kawhi trade straight up as long as we stretched Deng?

We wouldn't be able to use the room exception yet. If we do come to an agreement to use it, we couldn't actually put pen to paper until after the Kawhi trade.

I guess I intended to ask if we now have to salary match for a 1 on 1 trade with SA? Forget Deng, they're not taking him.

Only send out 14-15 is still possible even though we no longer have cap room? I thought we could only go +1.05% now that we're at the cap.

Every thing else you mentioned suggest a 1 on 1 trade would be more difficult since SA is as unlikely to take on Deng as the Lakers are unlikely to give up the farm.

I don't think a Kahwi trade is coming. I think that the FO is seeing a lot of available FAs next year and even if they miss out on Kawhi, they may get someone else without giving up an asset. Kawhi may be better, but will Kahwi be better than who Ingram will be + that other FA that we may get, who may still end up being Kawhi?

This is as close as I can get it using the sham capulator

http://www.shamsports.com/capulator?id=3754053955b835c617e0b2073093142

I had to do a little funny business with Svi's and Bonga's rookie contracts (because the site doesn't allow fully customised contracts), but I got it to show the correct numbers and still have their Bird Rights at the end of the contract.

I also think the Lakers could've given Bonga another an extra $407,165 simply because that's the difference between what was remaining under the cap and his 1.0 mil first year salary.
