The fact that you ran straight to numbers is an indication that either you don't watch him play or don't realize how advanced his offensive skill set is for rookie.
Comparing your Celtic player to Kobe based on some Youtube highlights? OK, let's compare.
Tatum age 20 season: 13.9/5.0/1.6/1.0/0.7/47%/83%
Kobe age 20 season: 19.9/5.3/3.8/1.4/1.0/47%/84%
Even your beloved Red Auerbach wouldn't have the stones to argue that's the same.
Dont get me wrong, I dont think Tatum will ever be Kobe Bryant and I still would take Ingram before Tatum. But you dont have to mislead the numbers to prove this point. The majority of people will call Tatum 19 this past season, since he turned 20 at the very end of the season. Kobe was 20 that entire season while Tatum was 20 for about 15 games, hell even BBR calls him 19. You also left off any number that would be in favor of Tatum like 3pt%.
The Kobe argument is simple and easy, you dont need to compare what they did before they could legally drink. All you gotta say is call me when Tatum wins a ring. Call me when Tatum wins a MVP, makes an all NBA team, makes 11 1st team all nba, makes an all defense team, wins multiple championships and multiple FMVPs. The long list of accolades from Kobe is ridiculous.
