Probably too intimidated or shy to ask Kobe for help to be honest.

Whatever the reason is they need to go to Kobe ASAP. Remember IT was tearing it up when he was consulting on Kobe about the game. Ironic that it's the Celtics that comes to Kobe.

no they dont. Not with all the injuries and surrounding drama. They would take Mitchell.

He averaged 14/5/1 on the season. Which one of those is "special"?

The fact that you ran straight to numbers is an indication that either you don't watch him play or don't realize how advanced his offensive skill set is for rookie.

Comparing your Celtic player to Kobe based on some Youtube highlights? OK, let's compare.

Tatum age 20 season: 13.9/5.0/1.6/1.0/0.7/47%/83%

Kobe age 20 season: 19.9/5.3/3.8/1.4/1.0/47%/84%

Even your beloved Red Auerbach wouldn't have the stones to argue that's the same.

Eventually he can get into his head and force him to request a trade from the Celtics. Kobe's playing 4D chess :D

No they don’t. They draft Tatum, draft Kuzma, draft Hart, sign KCP to get in Lebrons good graces, and then give Rondo their exemption last year to be the point guard.

Randles ass just stays glued to the bench and splitting time with Lopez tbh

lakers take donovan mitchell if there's a re draft today. I still think they take Lonzo over tatum.

The young Tatum is offering glimpses into what has made him the phenom that he is. He just wants it.

That's really sad if true. I know Kuzma went to dinner with him and tried to pick his brain.

If I had that opportunity, Kobe would have to block my number I'd be asking to go workout every day.

You are easily trolled. For all we know, Kobe's probably recruiting Tatum.

why? After watching the playoffs I’m not sure I can think of one reason other than not wanting to admit to making a huge mistake the first time. It’s Tatum in a redraft and it’s not even close.

Both players are still developing. After 2009 (just one year) many people would take Tyreke Evans over Steph curry in a re draft, and look how that turned out. Yeah, if you told me Lonzo and Tatum both aren't gonna get better, who would you take in a redraft, I'd pick tatum.

maybe but Tatum looks like the real deal to me. I’m assuming Tatum will continue to improve and so will ball but Tatum just looks so advanced offensively and based on everything I have read he has a great work ethic. Who knows but I think this kid is the real deal.

Dont get me wrong, I dont think Tatum will ever be Kobe Bryant and I still would take Ingram before Tatum. But you dont have to mislead the numbers to prove this point. The majority of people will call Tatum 19 this past season, since he turned 20 at the very end of the season. Kobe was 20 that entire season while Tatum was 20 for about 15 games, hell even BBR calls him 19. You also left off any number that would be in favor of Tatum like 3pt%.

The Kobe argument is simple and easy, you dont need to compare what they did before they could legally drink. All you gotta say is call me when Tatum wins a ring. Call me when Tatum wins a MVP, makes an all NBA team, makes 11 1st team all nba, makes an all defense team, wins multiple championships and multiple FMVPs. The long list of accolades from Kobe is ridiculous.

Ya but all Ball really needs to do is improve his shooting. Ball was a really good shooter in high school and college, so its not like your hoping for a guy like Rubio to improve his 3pt shot. What happens when Ball becomes say a 40% 3pt shooter. The dude is already a wiz at running an offense and rarely makes mistakes, he also doesnt need to pound the ball to run the offense. A great thing about him is the dude doesnt need the ball for long to find an open guy, which is great for the flow of the offense. He also is already a stud rebounder and defender. If that 3 ball starts to fall, guys will also start playing more up on him which will give him better looks at the lane as well for when he drives. I still think Lonzo is a good 3pt shot away from being a stud PG in this league already.

Honestly I'm not even sure how this became a Tatum vs Kobe discussion. Seems pretty silly.

I don't even know why this is on this board to begin with. Nobody cares who has a working debit card for Kobe's services.

http://www.landofbasketball.com/player_comparison/kyle_kuzma_vs_jayson_tatum.htm

Comparing him to Kuzma is a bit more relevant than to Kobe. Although on not as competitive a team, Kuzma beats him in offensive production (PPG/RPG/APG etc) but not as a more impactful all around player. Tatum is a better defender. Lakers didn’t make the playoffs, Celtics were a contender. Tatum is 20, Kuzma 23. Tatum will be the more impactful player long term, no doubt. But I don’t think Kuzma will be far behind. So...

In hindsight, knowing that we’d get Kuzma (at 27!), we wouldn’t draft Tatum at number 2 over Ball. No way. Maybe Mitchell. Not Tatum. End of story.

So some Laker fans don't like LeBron coming to LA, but there's nothing wrong with Kobe training the competition that may stand in the way of Lakers competing for championships?
