Longer term rotations

Post#1 » by LeCalinou » Mon Oct 22, 2018 5:01 pm

I'm really interested in seeing how Luke Walton can establish rotations based on particular things they might want to accomplish. This is obvious, but also nuanced... It takes quite a long time to figure out how guys are to be played in order to maximize their production.
And keep everybody happy.

For example, take Golden State. Their strength for 4 years has been how they mix their rotations - The Death Lineup actually is used for only short spurts, when Steve Kerr sees it fit. Traditionally, that has been the middle of 3rd quarters, but it also depends on opportunity.
Iguodala and Livingston are both effective because they can really be assertive when playing against reserves. They're very smart too, and thus preserve their energy for when it counts most.

I think Rondo, James, KCP and McGee would benefit from keeping them fresh for the playoffs, because their fresh legs can be very useful when it matters most.

* SMALL-BALL: Rondo, Lonzo, Hart, Kuzma, James
* BIG LINE UP: Lonzo, Ingram, Kuzma, James, McGee
* FAST: Lonzo, KCP, Hart, Ingram, James
* BULLY-BALL: Ingram, Hart, Kuzma, James, Beasley
* SHOOTERS: Ingram, Hart, Svi, James, Kuzma
* DEFENSE: Rondo, Lonzo, Hart, Ingram, James
