Should lakers threaten the nba with creating a new " aba"?

Basketball reasons.
Tampering charges for George.
Tampering charges for Ad.
Spurs trading Leonard to wherever except lakers.
Pacers trading George to wherever except lakers.
Hughe campaigns to try to forcé Leonard to clippers except lakers.

Etc etc etc.

Lakers are THE MOST IMPORTANT FRANCHISE; the one that makes MORE money to the league.

Shouldnt our FO start considering talking to Knicks, Bulls ( who also happen to be struggling) and some of the REALLY STRONG franchises like Heat, Raptors, Rockets, Mavs....
about going rogué and creating an alternative league, and gettint rid of the crappy dead weights like New Orleans?

Lets see how they fare withouth the biggest markets involved.

I think this is a little extreme in regards to starting another league lol. I will say that I do agree the lakers get screwed over and have more perceived restrictions than most teams. I’m not sure how Boston doesn’t get the same heat.

Wow... the idea that a group of franchised independent businesses have to trade players to another franchisee based on their "importance" is what's a little weird here. You have the right to run your business anyway you want I'd think..... but hey.... I'm just that way. You have a right to succeed and an equal right to fail.

How many teams got the best end of a deal like the Pau Gasol deal? Or had the good fortune to win 2 coin tosses while defending championships?

Yeah Lakers have had is so hard as a franchise it's just really unfortunate.

Also, read up on what it means to be a franchise, the current CBA, and why what your talking about isn't possible.

The Lakers, Knicks and Bulls would remain NBA franchises, and the owners of those franchises are welcome to sell their teams and collaborate to try and start a new league that competes with the NBA. They'll need a few billion in finances to get if off the ground, and probability of success would fall somewhere between 0-5%.

Try being an actual small market team before you start throwing a fit because big name FA's aren't signing with your team since Jerry Buss passed away and the luster of what it means to be a Lakers has since diminished slightly.

What'
?
i would swear the biggest player in the league just signed a contract with us this summer.

Thats not what it is about, is about collusion and conspirancey from the rest of the league screwing us up once and again for " basketball reasons".

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
