Lakers should wait I agree now. I'm not keen on losing Rondo
Kobe Bryant forever
GO LAKERS
8-)
I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.

I don’t care if we lose out on AD but it is stupid to offer all our young players for a player who tends to get banged up often.

I am not comfortable with the Lakers package being thrown around.

Let them have Tatum JB and a bunch of useless picks. If that’s what they want to wait for.

valrond1 wrote:Well, with the young core we have a chance of a Dinasty. BI/Kuzma and Lonzo are all poised to be stars in the league, although I only see Ingram as having superstar potential. Remember: only a few top players are really top at 21.
If you give up Lonzo/Kuzma/BI/Zubac and 2 picks, what do you get? Yes, you get AD, and get into the best case scenario, you get Klay in free agency. So you have 2 max and one near max player, and the rest are minimum wage players. You have only Hart as a young player. You are not getting any significant reinforcements from the draft, you can't trade anyone, so, do you think that Hart/Klay/Lebron/AD + a bunch of minimum players will get us a title ? or two? I don't think so. Go forward 5 years. Lebron is gone or at least he is just a decent player at 39, AD is entering the twilight, and Klay is no more a star. Hart is a good role player. Unless we strike gold in one of the few draft picks, that will be late draft picks, where is that team going?

The reason why the Warriors are so successful is because they got their core from the draft, then added Iguodala and had some decent players, then they got KD in FA. Same thing happened to us in the 80s. Yes, we had Kareem, but we drafted Magic, Worthy, AC Green and nearly drafted Byron Scott. That was the core of the Lakers showtime team.

PS: Yes, I had a typo with AD's age.

So much wrong with this post.

1. Only Kuz has shown real star potential and none of them have shown superstar potential. BEST case is one of them becomes an All-Star. It's a no-brainer to trade them for a surefire MVP candidate and possible top 3 PF of all time in Davis.

2. That's literally what they said about the Heat when they got LeBron and Bosh to sign. Guess what? It turned out fine. Stars elevate the level of the players around them. People take paycuts to play for surefire contenders. I honestly wouldn't even want Klay, I'd prefer Middleton. A crunch-time lineup of Rondo/KCP/Middleton/LeBron/Davis is absolutely a title worthy team. We could sign Kyrie, Butler, all much better than Klay.

3. Davis in his twilight years in 5 years? Huh? He will be 30-31. In his absolute prime. He would be where LeBron was roughly after he left Miami for Cleveland. I would say he'd be the best player in the league along with Giannis at that time with Curry/Durant/Harden/Westbrook all getting old. And we'd get a solid 4-5 more years out of him at that point.

When you get a chance to acquire a top 2-3 player for the next 10 years, you **** do it. You worry about what to put around him later. This is not a time to get cute.

I can't believe some of these posts... Do any of the people saying we shouldn't trade such and such player even know what caliber of a player Anthony Davis is?

He is putting up the best numbers by a big man since SHAQ. This is a guy who can legitimately be expected to go for 40/15 anytime it's needed.

I don't care if we have to take the kitchen sink, open the cabinet underneath, rip out the piping, go in the backyard and dig up some gold, and throw it all at the Pelicans. If we can get a generational player, I do not want to see any quibbling over could-would-possible prospects from the front office. Even if ALL three of BI/Kuz/Lonzo's best case scenario is what D'Angelo is doing for the Nets, I'd still take Davis.

Top 3 players are what you need to win titles. Davis makes us a relevant team well after LeBron retires, 8 years at least.

Historic draft pick return would be to get three future stars who are 21, 21, 23 and about to break out.

That tells me a deal is done, and he wants to gather as many picks as possible.

NOP GM, Pelinka can help save your job. Don’t piss on it.

Edit, after the no AD news: he obviously asked for too much. Dumb-di-dumb.
