You trade Lebron and then there is NO Star signing for us in F.A in the next 30 years.

Get over it kobe fanboys.

he is here.

And we are winning a ring in 2020 or 2021 like it or not.

Yeah...I don't get the Kobe guys who hate Lebron. We have a poster here who's completely revising the history of Kobe, in an effort to smear Lebron. Like Kobe didn't get Phil and Shaq ran out of town. Actually....there's one massive difference: Kobe didn't want anything in return particularly, did he? He just wanted Shaq out.

As a guy who loved Kobe...who considers him prob his fave player ever (close between him and Magic) ...there's no shame in recognizing the talent that is Lebron...and being happy he's doing his thing here.

Does Lebron want coaching changes? Personnel changes? Go look at the teams he joined. Dumpsters. Will Miami ever have a culture like they had during his 4-year stint? Will Clev ever be half of what they were with him? He ruined the Cavs??? Can anyone seriously say that with a straight face?

Lakers were a sh** -show for 5 years before Lebron showed up. Is he the messiah? Hardly. But he's the best player we've had in a while. Why the animosity, I can't figure out.

Nothing we'd get in return would put us where Lebron can take us. Thread should be locked. Some of you guys are being as emotional as Demps was during negotiations. Unbelievable.

if we strike out on another max guy, i'd trade lbj for zion in a heartbeat.
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

I really wish people would put the whole trading Lebron idea to bed. Unless Lebron specifically requests a trade, there's an almost zero chance Magic would trade Lebron. Like you mentioned, i'm not sure there's a better way to ensure we never acquire another star player in FA for the foreseeable future. It's not like Lebron's influence on current and future players will immediately vanish once he decides to retire. Lebron mentioned "trust" [in Magic] as one of his main reasons for joining the Lakers. You trade Lebron without his request to be traded and the Lakers will effectively be deemed as untrustworthy in the eyes of many, including to media who would likely run with a story on how the Lakers betrayed Lebron.

The idea of trading Lebron is silly on so many level.

What has the front office done against their will that they wouldn’t have done if not for LeBron?

The first 29 million things they did were given to KCP over the last two years.

I think LeBron figures if he brings a championship or 2 to a team with the history of the Lakers, nobody will question his greatest ever claims anymore... He may be right about that, but still...
It's not the Laker pride vibe we're used to from our star players... There's something very calculated and self serving about what LeBron is doing right now...

So honestly, if I was the GM and a halfway decent deal presented itself, I'd trade LeBon right now... That's also, because even when this team is playing it's best ball, we're just kind of boring... IMO, outside of that last Cleveland Championship, all of LeBron's teams have been kind of boring... I though it would be different as a Laker...

Clearly, the plan from the beginning was that Klutch was going to deliver LeBron and AD... I think the plan going forward too, is that around the time LeBron retires, we'll get Simmons...

I think we've probably essentially signed on to become a Klutch shop going forward... And I think that means we'll ONLY get Klutch players given how the league seems to be reacting...

That would be great and all, but it feels like even if that happens, NO other stars will come, and I have my doubts about how a team built around AD and LeBron can compete in this financial market...
