-Time machine back to July 1st-

Rich Paul: "Hey guys, LeBron has agreed to sign."
Magic & Rob: "Great! 4 year deal, max contract?"
Rich: "Yes sir."
Magic: "Awesome! When can LeBron do the press conference!?"
Rich: "He's not going to have a press conference, we only have one ask."
Rob: "What's that, Rich?"
Rich: "You bring on KCP for a 1 year deal at 12 million."
Rob: "You know what, Rich.. Unfortunately we can't do that because we already have an agreement in place with Julius Randle and Brook Lopez for that $12M. We have Brandon as our starting 2 guard and we have Josh Hart as our backup. We're also going to bring in Andre Ingram at the minimum for some depth."
Rich: "Oh.. okay. I get where you're coming from. LeBron will enjoy having a better team around him, and his family is already settled in LA. Can't wait for October!"

Oh yeah, the Lakers have been getting a ton of negative publicity the last week. It's nice they're signing Ingram (who quite honestly should have already been apart of the team on a 2 way contract) to try to paint over that pile of crap.

Well.... when we sign this guy the season is truly over. He helped us coast into the offseason last year and will get us across the line again this year.

On a talent basis, I felt Machado deserved a call up but Ingram is a nice story to have out there when the management and ownership are getting hammered from all sides. The problem is that the same distraction doesn't work twice and all the good will that came with Ingram last season has become old now.
