Luke is entering the last guaranteed year of his contract (2020-2021 is non-guaranteed), he should immediately be asking for an extension or to be let go. There’s no reason to sit around hoping to enter a lame duck season when there’s reports you’re a clear front runner for other open jobs.

That should be the move for him.

If the Lakers want him and believe he is the right guy they will extend him. If not...……. there is really no point for him to waste a season here when he can take over the young team over is Sac.

Goes to show how Luke is seen around the league and yet some are desperate to see him go.

The Lakers should make the Kings trade for Walton if they want him so badly. Walton is still under contract with LAL.

Similar to how Doc Rivers was traded from the Celtics few years ago.

And yes I know Walton isn’t Rivers but the Kings are a stupid team that will do anything.

Good.... Let Sac have him. He can be wildly inconsistent with their youth and try different lineups from quarter to quarter for them.

We need a veteran coach here like we need a veteran in the FO. Do I think that will happen?... not likely based on the amateur hour crap we've been seeing this last few days.

Hopefully Jeannie is saving us from ourselves, and insisting on keeping him another year

Fire Luke Walton / Replacement Thread

Anyone want to argue that Luke is better than Joerger? Idk if I can. His pace and style seems perfect for what the lakers want to do. Not sure why we don’t go after him now!

Again, Luke ended the season coaching a G league team to two wins out of three against WCF playoffs teams.

The third game was decided by a buzzer beater by Portland.

Why the hell shouldn’t we do everything to keep him?
Since the 1976 merger LAL 11, CHI 6, BOS 6, SAS 5, GSW 4

PG: Luka / Vincent / Bronny
SG: Smart / Reaves / Knecht / Mañon
SF: LaRavia / Rui / Thiero
PF: Bron / Vando / Kleber
C: Ayton / Hayes / Koloko

Kinda thinking about Luke a little bit... Trying to put myself in his shoes... I think no matter whether you think he did a good or a bad job this season... This has to be one of the most convoluted seasons any coach has ever faced...

Lose your go-to guys from last season... Get LeBron and basically a whole new roster...
You're told LeBron has bought into the long game... The roster is temporary... Do the best you can, let Lebron do the rest...
You settle into preseason, start working the season, 10gms in, your new boss starts calling for your head because you aren't winning enough...
Players get injured, LeBron's tuning you out already... But you're starting to put together a nice string of games heading into the ASG... You're near the top of the West... But you're still getting heat from the FO...
Then they try to trade your entire team for AD...
All your best players tune out... Everyone is done with LeBron... So you have to start trying different lineups again...
But they trade the one Big that had been making an impact... And they bring in 'shooters' who can't...
You soldier on but then the injuries start happening again... Losses mount... You shut guys down...
But you keep fighting and the G-league team is fighting for wins...
Still word on the street is you and your staff are out... Start packing... You haven't seen Magic in weeks... So, yeah...

Then Magic quits... And your on TV doing exit interviews with Pelinka...

I think the fact he didn't take hostages is impressive in itself.
Never have rice at Hanzo's house...

If you've seen Bill Walton do games, you know Luke can deal with crazy.
