We need a second scorer and playmaker on the wing. That’s why I’m in favor of going after guys like Butler, Kyrie and Kemba. If they’re not a possibility I’d target DLo and Brogdon. One thing I wouldn’t do is tie up their cap in the center position which is increasingly becoming a mercenary position so no to Vucevic and Deandre Jordan. We just need a center that can give 20-25 minutes considering Davis, Lebron and even Kuzma will get minutes there. We need to focus the rest of the roster spots on 3 and d wings considering that the front court is once we sign a starting center

We don't need offense as much as we desperately need perimeter D. Right now, we have Carouso and that's pretty much it.

If we crap out on Kawhi, and Kyrie, I'm all for Brogdon, if we can bring in Beverley too... Then we sign a budget 5 like McGee, who can get up and down...
D'lo is a bad fit... He's not up to be playing next to LeBron and AD, on a team that's supposed to be at the very least, a WCF threat...
And he plays zero D.

Beverley/Brogdon/LeBron/AD/McGee with Kuz mixed in as needed, would get it done.

And 1 to infinity. Zero defense is being kind.....

Brogdon is interesting. I really like his game and he's be a much better fit here than even Kyrie IMHO. If we could get him and a second tier guy that would be even better than just Kawhi in all likelihood. We are going to lack depth if we spend all of the cap on just one player.

I believe there would be 1 guy pushing for DLO. The same guy who is to blame for stiffing us with the Luol Deng bill. Jimmy. He may get his wish with Magic out of the office.

We definitely need playmaker, whether that playmaker is the type that will get you 30 on any given night is a legitimate question but expecting a 35 year old Lebron to carry the scoring and playmaking load is a recipe for disaster. Brogdan fits this requirement and I know for all the legitimate criticisms of Russell he fits that requirement as well. Anthony Davis will transform our defense and it’s easier to find pesky perimeter defenders using vet minimums than it is to find a playmaker.

I like the idea of pairing Beverly and Brogdan but there’s no way you’re getting both. We’d have to offer around 22-25 for Brogdan for the Bucks to not match, not to mention it would have to be early in free agency. Beverly is going to get something in the 10-15 million range so getting both is a non starter. The nice thing about Brogdan is that he’d at the salary that would leave us 5-9 million in cap room which we could use to split between two players and still leave us with the MLE.

AD is a hell of a playmaker... And if we move him to the 4, playing off of LeBron, he'll have a lot more opportunity to make plays...
