Great game by AD. I thought he was fully engaged on both sides of the court. We need this level of aggression on a nightly basis.

Yes. And if he can just consistently put up that kind of play for 15 more games we can come out of the west hopefully and beat whoever is from the east.
Also, another surprising feat is how well Drummond played alongside AD this game. Night and day from the first game. I thought it was going to be impossible to put those together without being a clumsy cloggged up team.

I hope he gets left in Phx and we give his minutes to somebody else. This guy is a net negative all over the court, his defense is not even helping his case in this series, I don't want to talk about the O because it makes me sick.
KCP was a +19. He played his butt off on D. They need him to shoot though as the teams best shooter because he can get you double digits.
It's crazy to think this is Caruso, Kuzma, and THT playoff debuts in front of fans. Caruso needs to play better D and Kuzma needs to say screw it and shoot too even though his D is fine as his O is inexcusable as he's limiting himself to 2 shots a night. They need to stop wasting those 4-5 mins though with THT in the game as all he's did is blow rotations in those second quarters and get worked to be benched the rest of the way both games.
But Frank did play Marc though !!!
Bench the best shooter on the team for who exactly? That post was hilarious. There's no doubt he hasn't shot the ball well so far, but it's not like anyone else on the bench is even worth considering. THT shouldn't play at all in this series. He's an awful shooter and a turnover machine.
Please note that
KCP shot 0-9 overall, missed all 5- 3's vs Portland in game 1 last playoffs. Yes, he shot well game 2.
Also, KCP 20% from 3 vs Houston game 1.
He also shot 18%, 2-11 from 3 game 2 vs Miami. For the finals vs the Lakers, Ray Allen was red hot and buried the Lakers in game 2 in 2010 and went cold from game 3 to 7 shooting less than 24%.
The point is 3pt shooters go cold and hot in almost every game, the question is if that player is playing great defense and within the system. Lebron was caught yelling at KCP for passing up shots, I would think James would know better whether to ask Frank to sit KCP or not and tell him to shoot more.

I do think those 5 mins given to tht in a first half are better spent given to Wes so he plays both halves. I just have a we go need him feeling.
Right now even in the play in when **** got tight Tucker and Trez got benched for a while second half in favor of running KCP, Kuz, and Caruso to get his stops. And they were everywhere next to Lebron and AD. All over the floor, running lanes, boxing out, and so on. Games 1 and 2 we haven’t gotten the production out them score wise, but they have still been everywhere. And Frank is still only playing them both halves and giving THT spot minutes in the first half and the team is getting thumped.
Kuz, KCP, and Caruso need to account for 20-30 between them. They right now are playing their ass off on D because Frank is using an old Spurs model of hard D that has them everywhere rotating compared to AD and Bron though. You can count the possessions where they are on their guy, switch, trap, rotate out to the shooter, rotate back, hit the floor and Bron and AD are more stationary. And maybe that’s what they have to go with right now as Bron and AD get back. But I have a feeling being in front of a playoff crowd the first time at home for them will open a basket up

Nice win. Just like that, let them try to beat us from the three point line. If they try to get to the paint, engage smashmouth defense. Simple and clean plan. I like it.

I like how Lebron went after KCP near the end of the game, but I don’t necessarily agree with him on his playmaking choices.
I think KCP should put up 4-5 threes a game, which he got im game 2. He was completely off last night, and Lebron should not have been targeting him for the three at that point. Recognize he’s having an off night and praise him for his massive defensive effort instead. Passing to an open man who’s clearly off and has no confidence in his shot is not the right play IMO. I think Lebron was playing very passive almost all game, shying away from contact on offense, and deferring to role players to make the winning plays too much. Once Lebron decided to take the tough shots, the game turned around and Phoenix was buried. Bron knows that when he is aggressive early, when he looks for his shot, the role players feed off of that and hit their shots.
I don’t believe Lebron is injured. You’re not getting up for those two dunks last night with one ankle. He’s hesitant about pushing too hard, but he ain’t injured. He could end this series if he turns it up.

Were you a laker fan in 03?
It’s game 5, you complete a huge comeback on the road, and there is this guy who is ice cold but has hit huge 3 after huge 3 for you during the 3 peat. Do you swing it to Horry for the win if you are Kobe? Horry missed but that’s a play I live with as a fan and coach. It’s a play kobe could live with as a star.
What about 09?
There is this old guy, he’s been told he shouldn’t start, that his backup is younger and better, that he is a liability on defense, and he hasn’t been hitting his 3 ball at all. Do you still call the shot for him over Kobe in the finals on the road? Fisher sunk it, forced overtime, and got all his confidence back in one shot. That’s a play make or miss Kobe and Phil could live with.
I think KCP for 3 late is a play that Lebron, AD, and Frank can easily live with over him passing them up. It’s not Korver who has never hit a big or heavy shot before. It’s not forcing Hill into the unknown with huge free throws. It’s a spot kcp proved himself in last year, much like Fish and Horry before him

If KCP goes from incarceration kcp to 20 playoff run it's over for them. LeBron knows it

If we have all of our role players playing at peak performance; THT, KCP, AC, Kuzma, Morris, Harrell, Gasol, Matthews, I’d say we are very hard to beat.
