I know probably no one gives a f about this while watching how the final roster is constructed....but the SL is on the way and we have a few boys signed to two way deals for next year playing.
We're playing in two SL this year, one is in Sacramento and we lost yesterday to the Heat. We play today against the Kings.
Austin Reaves had 11 pts 6 reb 2 ast 1 ste 3 blks.
Joel Ayayi had 8 pts 3 reb 1 ast 1 ste
Mac McClung had 6 pts 3 reb 2 ast 1 ste 1 blk.
Cacok is in there as well.

I know Ayayi hasn't really done much so far, but how do you think he is being evaluated since he isn't the type of player where you see his contributions in the box score as he is the ultimate role player which is what is needed with this current Lakers team.

Re: Lakers Summer League 2021
Summer league is absolutely irrelevant for him.
He's an off the ball player feeding of his team's primary offensive weapons(Suggs, Timme and Kispert in college, soon to be Lebron, Westbrook and Davis in the NBA).
His college shot chart is unparalleled but ilustrates exactly this, he cuts to the rim to get high quality looks or spots up for three pointers. That's it.
Now he did have an outstanding Fiba U19 World Cup a few years ago in which he showed some on the ball glimpses as well, creating his own shot and such. But we've taken him to play his Gonzaga role, we already have the chefs in the kitchen, the guys who play the piano. We need people who carry it.
He'll look better in Vegas I reckon. But even if he doesn't, I'm not concerned at all. His best play will be clearly when the attention is not on him and that's in the big league.
I said it in his thread, I think he'll surprise a lot of guys around here and take some minutes from the veterans at some point.

Re: Lakers Summer League 2021
I like what I saw from Reaves, especially on D but I’m afraid with his athleticism it would be difficult to make it.
McClung is okayish I guess.
Ayayi is disappointing but it is still early I guess.
I don’t see a THT in these 3 yet. But hey it took Caruso a long time so with the lack of 1st round picks of the Lakers, maybe one of them get the chance and pan out.

Re: Lakers Summer League 2021
Both McClung and Reaves look good so far with the ball in there hand, but how will they be able to transition to not being the primary focus of not having the ball in there hands since we know lebron, WB, Nunn will have priority over them.
Yeah, they'll shine in summer league which will excite Laker fans, but I think that at least for this upcoming year, Ayayi has more potential to make some kind of contribution to the RS rotation
