Predictions,Expectations, Priorities etc.
Pelinka seems to me,always get these sneaky deals that no fans "predicted" like last off season when he acquired Harrell, but many "expected" Danny Green to be traded.
Expectations.
1. Schroder will NOT get his desired lucrative 100+ Mil contract offer from other teams, Rob will try to compromise by increasing his per year offer to like 25 mil but only for a 1 + 1 player option deal, as in I dare you to bet on yourself scenario.
2. I expect Lebron to make calls to Lowry, De Rozan etc to gauge if they are willing to take a discount for a chance to win a ring.
3. Kuzma will get traded but I'm not sure if Luke truly wants him at Sacramento. They will have to include the pick to sweeten the deal bec of Kyle's poor showing last playoffs.
Predictions.
1. I predict Pelinka to go for shooters under the radar like Fournier, Burks,Graham, Korkmaz, will call teams like Washington, Charlotte to explore trades.
2. Will acquire on of these aging players like Iggi, Ariza, Bjelica,
3. Howard will be back.
Priorities for me
1. Brogdon
2. Hield
3. Gary Trent Jr.
4. Porter.

Re: Predictions,Expectations, Priorities etc.
I think Kuzma is getting traded to the Spurs for DeMar (SnT).
- Kuzma wants a bigger role, Pop really likes him and Spurs have a hole at starting PF.
- DeMar has always been a fan of LeBron, he's from LA and I believe he's the player referenced in a recent report that Lakers want a playmaker that moves LeBron and Davis to 4-5. That makes sense because DeRozan has become a very good playmaker as a starting PF for the Spurs and would fit the SF role on the Lakers (pushing LeBron and AD to 4 and 5).
The fit financially means that Schroeder likely goes for nothing. Caruso and THT will be kept and DeMar will come at a discount to play in LA and contend.
Feels like the writing is on the wall for this trade. I don't love the fit entirely but he is a talent that will come cheap and unlike Harrell, his defensive problems can be hidden a lot better, especially because Lakers don't switch heavily.
#22 - Duarte
UFA - Howard
Caruso, KCP, DeMar, LeBron, Davis
THT, Duarte, Matthews, Markieff, Gasol
McLemore, Dudley, Howard

Re: Predictions,Expectations, Priorities etc.
I will keep it short.
I see the Lakers drafting a player. TBD
They will then wait until free agency to make and See what Montrezl decides. If he opts in (doubt it) he will be a part of a nice deal that may bring in a known name point guard
The package will include Kuzma+Harrell+pick for aittle cap relief and an player keeping them.from getting hard cap. They will then allow Dennis to test the free agent waters to get fillers on his worth. Meanwhile they will be filling in their empty roster spots. They will pick up 2 or 3 undrafted players picking up on one who will.make the roster.
Dennis finds a deal, but the Lakers will sign and trade him to get assets and a decent player(s) on a 1 year expiring deal

Jock Landale is long overdue. Better than most NBA C from this era.
Will come dirt cheap too. I'll lose my mind if we're recycling another dinosaur instead of signing this dude.

Re: Predictions,Expectations, Priorities etc.
Trade Kyle Kuzma and KCT for Kyle Anderson and De'Anthony Melton.
Try to sign Kyle Lowry via the MLE. If he doesn't budge get Reggie Jackson for the same deal.
Gasol is retiring, Kostas is signing in Europe. Harrell will opt out and go someplace else. Let go of Schroder and Drummond completely.
Resign THT and Caruso.
Sign Jock Landale from the NBL.
Draft JT Thor with the #22 pick. Buy a 2nd rounder(Detroit has 3 of em' for example). Get Joe Wieskamp.
Get the token ring chasers for the minimum to fill out the roster.
Lebron
Davis
Anderson
THT
Lowry/Jackson
Melton
Caruso
Wieskamp
Thor
Landale
+ ring chasers

Re: Predictions,Expectations, Priorities etc.
Predictions:
Gone from roster, traded or dropped:
Schroeder, Pope, Matthews, Kuzma, Dudley, Morris, Drummond, Gasol, Kostas
Who is left?
Caruso, THT, James, AD, Harris. That’s a decent starting five.
Draft:
I suspect we’ll draft well again, possibly trade up if we can do it cheap but this draft is deep. We need to rebuild around what we have but should pick the best player available.
Our biggest need:
Center. A solid big. A real back to the basket C who plays defense and can screen hard. Jokic, Vucevic, Nurkic. I liked how Wiseman came along before injury and I’d be open to a different breed of C. There are some young ones coming along.
Our second biggest need:
A rock solid SG / wing defender.
In Rob I trust. We didn’t get a break between seasons last year, that’s what threw all things off.
Next season, we’ll be rested at the start. Ring collection continues.

My initial reaction when I heard that Kuzma was dropped from the US team was that Pops hated him and they made up an injury to create an excuse but the injury turned out to be true so....One possible problem is that Pops has a history of not helping out the Lakers. DeRozan will need to make a special request to him. Lakers will NEED Lebron to recruit players. If he manages to convince Lowry to come here, DeMarr will likely make that request.

Re: Predictions,Expectations, Priorities etc.
Predictions:
- Nothing comes of the "big name" trade & FA rumors. Westbrook, CP3, Lillard, Beal, DeRozan, Lowry, etc stay where they are or get traded/S&T elsewhere.
- We resign Alex & THT because Alex is GOAT and THT will be useful either as a contributing player OR trade asset. Maybe bring back Wesley Matthews, too. He never got right last year but I think he can still be a valuable contributor.
- We keep Marc and bring back Markieff. Solid locker room guys and they can still contribute (albeit situationally)
- We make sure Drummond, Schroder & Harrell end up elsewhere and we get trade assets like picks/trade exceptions that stay in our pocket up to the trade deadline to pick up a real piece.
Priorities:
- Sign Dwight again and apologize to him for the snafu with Harrell. Losing him for Trezz was a terrible, egregious mistake on the FO part.
- Sign a veteran PG at the MLE to give us a ballhandler & distributor (Patty Mills or Jeff Teague type)
- Trade Kuzma and make most of the Schroder S&T to bring back a playmaker. Possibly a young shot creator who simply hasn't had the right system and/or coaching to get the most out of him. Alternatively, cash in Kuzma/KCP/Harrel for a star guard that will inevitably hit the trading block as happens every year.
Expectations:
Championship or bust.

Re: Predictions,Expectations, Priorities etc.
Prediction - I think Lakers somehow pull of a big move. SOmething like the Lowry and Derozan rumor.
Expectation - I expect Lakers to really focus on shooting and size.
Priorities -Get something for Dennis. Dont think hes back.
Some free agents i would like Lakers to look at...
PAtty Mills
Jamychal Green
Gorgui Dieng
Danny Green
Tony Snell
Austin Rivers
Trevor Ariza
Khem Birch
JJ Reddick
And my last favorite by low target Zach Collins
Are we doing a predict Lakers roster next season thread? Thats always my favorite.

I expect the Lakers will do what they usually do, which is to make moves that no one saw coming.
I hope they mak KCP, Gasol, Caruso, Wes and Kieff and manage to make smaller move for a big man.
Lebron - Buddy - Ingles - AD - Gasol
Caruso - KCP - Wes - Kieff - Nerlens Noel

That would be great and I still think Lebron needs to talk to him to make sure it happens, then hopefully Lowry will get enticed. If not, they still need a legit shooterS like Hield or Brogdon to space the floor. Mills or Reddick for vets min.
