When it comes to decisions like these that seem obvious to outsiders, it’s always important to remember that these type of moves involve a lot of politics as far as front office influence and any promises made or relationships that need to be maintained with agents.
Just cause it seems obvious that Jordan should be out of the rotation, doesn’t mean that Pelinka didn’t promise his agent or DAJ that he’d get an extended look as a starter if he signed. Frank can’t just break promises without hurting the front offices ability to be trusted by future free agents.
I think Vogel doesn't end something until he thinks he has enough sample size to make an empirically informed decision. He's rigorous and thorough like that.
