I switched a while back when you first broke that wisdom to me Deep. Haven't looked back. Although, I mostly just drink water + vanilla protein these days.

some bad areas in the city obviously, but not bad around campus... just a 1 block radius around my apartment in terms of Pitt. For example, the above statement was shouted after breaking up a fight about 15 feet from my front door with at least 25-30 people shouting, yelling and pulling people away.

I remember when i got robbed (almost two years ago now)
Almost got stabbed in the torso, but I blocked it with my hand. The Perks of living in LA.
Dudes got lucky their were two of them. I have nice scar on my hand to show for it.

I put my phone away once i'm off the main drag, always. I've been **** with by people trying to sell drugs from pot to heroin on any given night, but generally **** with the college kids is a good way to get arrested around here (cops swarm in like crazy within a mile or two of Pitt's "campus". I'm back in my apt and am generally not worried. I had a friend get mugged at gunpoint a block up from my apt on a street i walk on all the time though at 11 pm 2 weeks back. That freaked me out a bit.

If I'm by myself real late at night (2-4 am), I put it at 5% I'll get mugged walking my 'usual' way over the summer and about .5% I'll get mugged during the school year. Only about 1% walking back main streets to my apt over the summer alone.

I was never worried about getting robbed. I always made the asinine assumption that it could never happen to me until it did. You should probably move to a different location whenever you get a job.

Whatever. I've dealt with enough ****, if it happens it happens. I wish I had known before moving in here that the area was ****. I live in what is known as north oakland while most Pitt college kids live in south oakland. the difference is a 5-10 min walk through an area not populated by primarily college kids.
