oh gek, if only you were in LA... we'd geek out all over LA. Tagging periodic tables on billboards, breaking into the griffith observatory... man what a dream

LA is probably the one place I would seriously consider randomly jumping ship to. That and Maui.

I think gek would make an awesome roommate 8-)

That place is creepy. Second place where the most suicides are done.
The first is the golden Gate bridge in San Francisco.

seriously gek you want to stay in pittsburgh because of 1. money and 2. your support network is there?

that sounds like complete and utter anathema to me honestly

and no offence it would be somewhat understandable if pitt was a world class city like la or ny...but it's not.

pls leave pittsburgh for your own good.

I would hate living in NY. East coast cities are full of ass holes. **** me for doing what I want to do and live where I want to live, right? I'm glad everyone knows what's best for me though. Especially you drugmachine. Your word means the most.

lol i grew up on the east coast and visited boston/ny/philly/dc/baltimore multiple times, dc/baltimore/philly regularly and have been to atlanta. all **** populations compared to nice midwestern cities. Go do some more acid, swoon that girl that's going to break up with you in two weeks, and don't come back here when you're cutting yourself heartbroken.

JK though bro. Seriously though to think we all want the same things in life and enjoy living in the same locations is ignorant as ****.

Thats some of the most realist **** that I have ever heard Florence say. I am seriously contemplating giving him an and 1.

Will have to ponder and get back to you on my final decision.

visiting in a city is hardly the same as living there
and what about the other million places in the states...not to mention the rest of the world?

yeah yeah yeah different interests and all, i understand, but people who don't travel, or don't have the inclination to boggle me. i know some very grounded people who are very afraid of new things, be cajoled into travelling and absolutely loved it.

what's stopping you from finding a job in say like LA? worst case scenario you don't enjoy LA, and can move back to the midwest after 6 months or a year or whatever...

first of all, gek, fu

the east coast is the best, especially ny; it is the mecca of commerce and entertainment

and secondly(not directed at gek), there is a difference between realest and realist, pls learn it

I.e. that was the realest **** you ever wrote vs. I am pragmatic therefore I am a realist

sorry pet peeve

I've been in 75% of the states in the country. My family had some tough times as a kid so I've never left the country. I love the south and love cities like Chicago and New Orleans.

You're also judging Pittsburgh and you've never lived here...

I'm telling you I dislike the size of Pittsburgh sometimes as a city... as in too big and too many city issues. I prefer living in the country, but the odds of me finding a job in those areas are much slimmer. I'm staying where I am at because I like the area and will be forced to meet new people either way because most of my friends moved home. I'm the only one in my family within 4 hours. I didn't grow up here.

Money is stopping me from moving to LA and a general lack of not wanting to move 12 hours away from my family when my grandparents are on their last legs and i just had my first niece born to a sister I didn't get along with as a kid but am now very close with. I'm not paying to go out there and no job will. I've applied for some, but tech companies hire from people they know... aka the places they went to school and know professors who they trust their opinions on students.

I'm sure I could go to grad school out there, but that's not what I want to do right now. If I did I'd end up choosing between an LA school, Arizona or Pitt (as a safety, I know I have a PhD spot here).

more like least coast.

but srsly i think the only thing the east coast has over the west is way better city layout. like their cities just make more sense which makes for better public transportation and usually better night life. LA and lots of California is so **** spread out its terrible.
