-Isaiah Thomas
-Suns 2015 1st round pick (top 13 protected)
For
-Steve Nash 9.7 million dollar expiring contract
-Ed Davis
-Lakers remove protection on this year's pick
So lets look at this from a phoenix standpoint. Lose IT, and 2015 Suns pick to get Ed Davis, Nash, and 2015 Lakers Pick with no protection. Trade breaks down to IT for ED Davis and Nash with a swap of 2015 picks where LA gets PHO if outside 13 and Pho get the LA pick regardless of where it stands. They remove a player from their logjam of guards, opens the option for salary relief to sign Dragic when he hits the market, receive a big to help them where they desperately need a big man, and get a top 10 pick. Not a bad haul for a trade, but pretty lopsided if you ask me.
Lakers get a good scoring PG, remove a big man from their "Stacked" lineup, trade an large expiring contract that insurance will pay roughly 50% off, and swap to a lower end 2015 1st round pick. hmmm not sold at all.
Yeah, one has to be high on Isaiah Thomas to even consider this trade...and it doesn't like that's the case for any of you.
In your breakdown of the assets, you have the Lakers swapping first round picks with the Suns (likely 14th or 18th). Right now LA is dangerously close to giving that pick to the Suns for nothing.
Well now that Phoenix traded for Brendan Wright there's no point in the trade. Unless you want to do a swap of Isiah Thomas and our pick back for Nash.
