Baseball is ahead of the curve among sports when it comes to cleaning up their PED issues.

Ortiz juiced from 01-03. Has there been a more recent time?

Baseball doesn't seem like they're a whole lot closer to cleaning up their PED issue than they were a few years ago... I don't get the sense that it's no longer an issue in the sport.
I'll give them this though, they're head and shoulders above Cycling, which knows full well that the top riders for decades have been using some sort of PED, but continue to entertain these self righteous Witch Hunts every several months. If they looked hard enough I think they'd probably be able to justify stripping just about every major victory for at least the last 30 or 40 years.

But team sports are harder... You can strip individual awards like MVPs but it gets harder with championships...

Its ahead of the curve among the 4 top leagues when you take into account that the NBA is still DEBATING testing for HGH and the NFL has very little and too damn lenient testing rules for anything from testosterone to more synthetic drugs.

I have no clue on what NHL does though.

I agree...
And I'm a big proponent of the cut-over approach... Pick a date, flip the switch on testing and never look back... No reviewing old samples, or anything historical. Just make the decision and move forward.

NFL can't be too strict or it'll be like a lockout year... So they probably need to phase in a drug at a time over several seasons. It'd be interesting to see what effect eliminating PED's would have on the Brain Injury issue?

Basketball scares me... I wouldn't bet against Kobe being on something, and I doubt there would be very many stars untouched by the problem... So it'll be interesting to see what happens there... But they definitely need to do something, and do it now.

I have a feeling the NHL is a lot like the NFL, but who knows... But I think any league not addressing the issue at this point is silly.

I think the main reason that they dont have stricter guidelines on football and basketball is because I would put money on it that some top players are doing some sort of PED.
