If Ball is gone after number 1 goes, they'd better pick him. He's a fierce competitor, I'd love to add him to our roster.

Russell
J Jackson
Ingram
Randle
Zubać

Good roster to build a champ team from, assuming we'll make a decent trade or two at some point, too.

Russell
J Jackson ----------------- Can't Shoot
Ingram ----------------- Have not proven he Can Shoot
Randle ----------------- Can't Shoot
Zubać ----------------- Have not proved he Can Shoot the three consistently.

You will need a foolproof shooting clinic to make this work.

I'm not the one choosing this lottery outcome somehow, just saying if Ball goes to the Celtics, this is a possible scenario. For those who say Fultz, why not just keep JC? Oh yeah, millions, but fit wise.

Russell - plays defense when p:ed off, scorer
J Jackson - plays defense, hustle O
Ingram - plays defense, scorer
Randle - plays defense for stretches, hustle O
Zubać - plays defense, scorer

All of them run the break.

Lonzo mentioning he was tired immediately sent red flags to Lakers and some fans. Zo and his pops are doing too much off the court and not putting in work on it.

Tonight he's on Kimmel...Too Hollywood for me already.

Let's take Jackson who is already a good wing defender, his offense will come with time. We can't worry about offense right now.

Winning big again will be built on defense first and Josh and Tiny Dog will be a terror on the perimeter in 4 to 5 years.

Agreed. JJ and Ingram at the 2/3 could be something really really special. If it clicks and works out, they could be dominating the league for the next 20 years. Before the season I had JJ and DSJ as the best players in this draft. And I'm still very high on both.. I would still take either one of them if I had number 1.

JJ and Ingram would be a nightmare both on defense and in transition. JJ still shot 38 prct from deep. He has word class athleticism that you just can't afford to pass on.

Last thing Lakers should do is base this year's draft pick on some possibility of what could happen with PG13 next year. Draft the BPA. And if they feel JJ is the BPA (like I do) then they need to pick him. Dont think you need to get a point because we will have PG13 at SG next year to run with Ingram at 3.

I say we draft JJ and try to trade Dlo. Ideal move would be to try and sneak b
into the back end of this lottery by trading DLo. Phil Jax would love Dlo as a triangle pg. Draft JJ and DSJ at 8 and start planning the parade!

Srsly though, JJ is the best player in this draft. Don't believe me? Just think bout who you would put your money on to win the ROTY next year ? Lot of people have conceded Jackson would probably be the favorite for roty.

In regards to Lonzo -- he would be the "safe" pick imo. I read an article where they said Lonzo is a great glue piece, but he's not THE piece. Which hits the nail right on the head for me. To me, if this was football, Lonzo would be the left tackle teams pick in the firs-round. Its a smart logical pick. As a pass first pg, you know zo would make our team better by pushing and moving the ball around, getting everyone involved while hitting a few threes to keep the D honest. All that sounds good.

But at this stage, I want MORE. I NEED MORE. If Lonzo reached his full potential he would still be a 12-14ppg scorer. Granted he would probably have 10 assists and 7 rebs. Which is a good line. But Lakers desperately need a true alpha dog bucket-getter. That's why I like both JJ and DSJ. They're exactly that. Lonzo will never score more than 15 ppg imo. Even in high school, he still didn't rack up a lot of pts. Even in the fast paced cherry-picking offense he didn't score gaudy off the charts numbers like most McDonald's players. JJ has a gritty sense of play about him that this team desperately needs. We need that tough passion. This team currently is too cute and soft. Josh Jackson would change that himself with his mentality and attitude.

If you draft JJ, it makes Dlo pretty much untradable as your best shooter and play maker. You also better get something a lot better than the back end of the lottery for your best player.

Agreed. Moving Russell because you draft JJ makes no damn sense. Especially for that garbage proposal.

I just can't talk myself into JJ. Beyond the fact that I don't think he's one of the three best prospects on this draft, I also think he's the worst fit of all the guys they're looking at drafting at 2. I could probably talk myself into DSJ or Taytum, and maybe even Fox.

JJ makes no sense for what the Lakers need.

If I'm Ainge you take Ball. We saw how the Celtics played better when the moved the ball well. Lonzo seems perfect for the Celtics. If I was Lonzo, I'd want to go to Boston. He'll get maximum exposure in the playoffs in his 1st season. Not sure what more he could want. It's not like he can't live in LA in the off season.

I mean seriously, Ball must of been really impressive in his workout for them to put out these stories. Nice try Magic but I've seen you play far too long to know that when you look left, you are passing to the right.

Or behind his back. In either case Ainge won't know until it's over.

With Brad Stevens as coach, they're picking Jackson. I hope.

Well, after a good night of sleep, Im already OK with the possibility of draft Jackson. If the history about Lonzo conditioning is true, it can be a major red flag , showing that his focus arent where it should be (less interviews, more training...).

I'm honestly surprised there are reports of Lonzo looking out of shape. I remember either reading or watching an interview where they said Lonzo and his brothers do some intense cardio running up hills to be able to constantly play a fast pace style.

The media has ran the lonzo to the Lakers narrative so hard that hearing they might take someone else is shocking.

Well it looks Like Ball or Jackson

It depends on what Boston does. Fultz could actually slide.

Say Boston takes Ball Lakers take Jackson.

Boston takes Jackson, Lakers take Ball

But if the Boston takes Fultz, Then the debate comes.

Either way you get a solid guy. But after watching the Finals there is a certain type of Player
that Steps it up in the Finals. A Gamer. That is the Guy I'm looking for.

Regardless of whose is picked a Long term approach where we build the youth and don't over pay them.

Like 12 to 14 for Randle instead of 20 mil. If he wants 20 let him walk or trade if possible.

A nice young core playing together by 2018 see who fits in with the group because there still
won't be a Championship by 2019 unless Lebron and his posse are coming.

Long term and be patient. Try and get rid of Bad contracts and don't sign any more.

After some contemplation:

Jackson not working out for other teams is weird unless there was a secret workout with a team trading or the celtics.
If Magic guaranteed Jackson #2 and it's a massive smoke screen to keep Danny from poaching Lonzo, that is a ruthless maneuver to treat Jackson that way. (which I probably don't mind)

While I still like both Lonzo and Jackson a lot (not worried about conditioning), what I do worry about is moving down-
1. Moving down to 3 would have to mean we get something from Philly I don't think they are giving up that makes it worth while.
2. Moving to 4 scares me because I don't like Fox, but intrigues me because I'm not sure what the Suns throw in that isn't prohibitive on salary Paul George-wise... unless it's something going to Indy and we get Paul on draft night.
3. Moving to 5 & 10 is odd because we haven't worked out guys you'd target there

If this is a bluff, it's a good one because Jackson not working out for other teams is so dangerous to himself and for Magic & Rob it could mean burning an agent bridge.

It's possible the Sixers and Kings have a trade in place. 3rd pick for 5 and 10.
It has been reported that the sixers were willing to move the 3rd pick ever since they got it.
For some reason Josh Jackson has been working out in Sacramento. I'm sure the Kings have been able to see him workout.
I'm thinking they liked what they saw and let his agent know they have a trade lined up with Philadelphia to take him at 3. That's my best guess.
