Tonight he's on Kimmel...Too Hollywood for me already.
Let's take Jackson who is already a good wing defender, his offense will come with time. We can't worry about offense right now.
Winning big again will be built on defense first and Josh and Tiny Dog will be a terror on the perimeter in 4 to 5 years.
Agreed. JJ and Ingram at the 2/3 could be something really really special. If it clicks and works out, they could be dominating the league for the next 20 years. Before the season I had JJ and DSJ as the best players in this draft. And I'm still very high on both.. I would still take either one of them if I had number 1.
JJ and Ingram would be a nightmare both on defense and in transition. JJ still shot 38 prct from deep. He has word class athleticism that you just can't afford to pass on.
Last thing Lakers should do is base this year's draft pick on some possibility of what could happen with PG13 next year. Draft the BPA. And if they feel JJ is the BPA (like I do) then they need to pick him. Dont think you need to get a point because we will have PG13 at SG next year to run with Ingram at 3.
I say we draft JJ and try to trade Dlo. Ideal move would be to try and sneak b
into the back end of this lottery by trading DLo. Phil Jax would love Dlo as a triangle pg. Draft JJ and DSJ at 8 and start planning the parade!
Srsly though, JJ is the best player in this draft. Don't believe me? Just think bout who you would put your money on to win the ROTY next year ? Lot of people have conceded Jackson would probably be the favorite for roty.
In regards to Lonzo -- he would be the "safe" pick imo. I read an article where they said Lonzo is a great glue piece, but he's not THE piece. Which hits the nail right on the head for me. To me, if this was football, Lonzo would be the left tackle teams pick in the firs-round. Its a smart logical pick. As a pass first pg, you know zo would make our team better by pushing and moving the ball around, getting everyone involved while hitting a few threes to keep the D honest. All that sounds good.
But at this stage, I want MORE. I NEED MORE. If Lonzo reached his full potential he would still be a 12-14ppg scorer. Granted he would probably have 10 assists and 7 rebs. Which is a good line. But Lakers desperately need a true alpha dog bucket-getter. That's why I like both JJ and DSJ. They're exactly that. Lonzo will never score more than 15 ppg imo. Even in high school, he still didn't rack up a lot of pts. Even in the fast paced cherry-picking offense he didn't score gaudy off the charts numbers like most McDonald's players. JJ has a gritty sense of play about him that this team desperately needs. We need that tough passion. This team currently is too cute and soft. Josh Jackson would change that himself with his mentality and attitude.
