Just for you hermes, i'll ask my cousin to let me borrow his sapphire or ruby versions, i know he has them and I have a game boy still so I can play it at work. I do remember how much the first Pokemon games sucked me in, had me playing it again years and years later.

black and white are really amazing, i'd also recommend heargold/soulsilver (best of both worlds- nostalgia but the new feel and stuff)

only played platinum of the 4th gen series but if you're not going to play them all i'd skip this one
