Why would we bring the player in for a second workout if we've already promised him?
Are we trying to make off with Ball AND Jackson? Surely, the cost is Russell which I'm totally ok with.
Is all of this just the biggest, darkest most effed up smokescreen you've ever seen?

It would really suck if we don't draft Lonzo.

So you're saying that Pelinka lied and told Jackson's agent a false promise all for the purpose of a smoke screen? No agent would ever want to deal with us again after that.

So they lock themselves in to a player in the middle of evaluation with the #2 pick so they can get brownie points with his agent?

They have the number 2 pick, it's not like they were going to be picking among 10 different players. Maybe they just really like Jackson.

I can absolute buy that much. But why with the #2 pick, before meeting with fultz, dsj etc, would you lock yourself into JJ. There is no real danger, nothing to gain and much to lose. If NO came in with a Anthony Davis trade offer, youd have to pass because you promised JJ and he already committed to you by passing up all other interviews and workouts.

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?

Not saying that at all. I just can't see the reasoning for a team sitting at 2 to promise any player. What's the benefit for us?

My gut says all these reports are BS or a smokescreen. Its just too illogical.

Well the idea is that everyone thinks Fultz going number 1 is a given, just like KAT to Minny.

My small hope is that Philly made that promise by having a trade in place with the Kings. Jackson working out for the Lakers is that he simply wants to be a Laker and that Pelinka is hoping to get the same offer from the Kings + more.

Jackson's agent got the word out about the promise. That's not coming from any team, thus that part is no smoke screen.

A lot of information that's coming out was also reported weeks ago. People are just taking it more serious now.

All of these reports is showing the intelligence of Pelinka. Dude is dictating this entire draft from the #2 spot. No way Magic is capable of politicin' like this, so I'm giving Rob credit here. Dude is killin' it right now.

I can't wait to see the noise he creates during FA season.

i think lonzo ball is lazy if he doesn't get pick by the lakers and goes to philiadelphia its going to shock him to death it might make him cry and honestly it probably better for him to go to philiadelphia and grow up he acting like this a for gone conclusion him ending up laker by not taking other workouts from other team.

Jordan Schultz really going all in on this report. Stating per his source that not only do the lakers believe JJ is the better player over Ball but also the better fit.

They moving that #3 pick for young Russ. No way do you not bring in the top guys if you're trading back to get #5 and #10.

Maybe we trade down with Sacramento? How about they send us Hield, #5 and #10 in exchange for #2, #28 and Randle? Russell and Hield would make a great shooting back court, similar to Golden State.

No thanks to Heild. Undersized at at the two with literally zero playmaking ability and a year older than Randle.

At this point, I'd be shocked if we took Lonzo.

Heartbreaking.

tbf Ucla had one of their better classes in a long time. Leaf and Anigbogu are both players that could sneak into the back of the lottery.

If nothing else the Lakers are doing a top tier job of keeping everyone including the prospects guessing.

This is disheartening hahah. If magic and Rob are just toying with us then shame on them. We've been on pins and needles long enough
