Fun Fact of the Day: Porn stars regularly walk in here, or should I say Porn actresses. I often wonder how they get into these things as most of them are very upbeat the first two times they come then after have this pale faced bitter look on them as the industry seems to wear them down. The money they make isn't huge, it's like some normal job making like $2,000 a month and these women are gorgeous, all of them. I suppose they put in less time to make that some amount of money but still, why resort to making porn when clearly you didn't get into it out of interest?! Then today, comes in a girl who does phone sex for a living and she makes more money, puts in less time AND on top of all that, the guys she has phone sex with develop a relationship with her, only calling her for the phone sex, but sometimes even just to talk. She says she's constantly putting things on her Amazon wishlist and always gets them, these guys just buy them. Now this girl is not nearly as hot as any of the porn stars that come in but does have a huge rack, still though, she makes more money than the girls making porn, gets things from Amazon just for doing what she does AND doesn't have to have sex with any of them.

Lesson here: Phone sex is more lucrative than starting out in porn.

Who settled if you don't mind me asking? When such things happen, someone is always on the losing side or else there would be no settling.

I'm good on speaking terms with all girls who do porn and come in here so they tell me more about themselves each time. It's easy to speak to them if you don't care that they do porn, most guys get stuck on that and things go bad from there. I always thought I'd freeze and wouldn't know what to say. It's really helped that I didn't care what they did for a living, knowing something so personal about them makes it easier to get in (pun intended?). Many of these girls who do porn tell me there friends don't know except for maybe one and family, well most of them don't know anything other than their daughter moved to Cali and is trying to become an actress.

The girl who does the phone sex has came in once or twice in the last few weeks and today she just started talking and that's when she spilled the beans as to what she does for a living, how she's paid, etc etc.

being in porn is kind of embarrassing methinks. imagine being put in a position where you have to tell your occupation in front of people.

Exactly Jet! Exactly! That's why I can't seem to figure out why they still do it? I have yet to ask any of them why they do it, though I'm sure the question will come up soon, most of my questions have already been answered by just listening to them. It's crazy how upbeat and shy they are when you first meet them, after a few times of seeing them though, I always see that same pale face bitterness on them. Something close to the face of losing all hope. It's quite sad to be honest, I mean, mind you as a guy, my thought is man I KNOW I can **** one of these girls, as many of them compliment my shirts often and always initiate the flirt game as I never do with a porn star. However, as a person, I feel sorry for them. It's clear not one of them is happy to being what they do and sadly also seemingly clear that none of them knows how to get out.

That's why it's so easy to talk to them though, they know I know what they do and they know nothing about me, none of them. I'm very vague as to what I do, all they know is gathered from what they see: My guitar, T-Shirts from Target (I love their tees), and the music that's playing when they come in. They don't know what I'm studying for nor how I live my life. They can tell I smoke pot as they all do but other than that, they don't know how I live or what I get into. However, they're often spill the beans. I think when I see them, they're at their most vulnerable point of the day. Cashing a check for being a porn star is probably hard to do. It's probably why they all cash their checks at a place like min than going to a bank or something.

Issue is the first question most people ask when you say that is, have I seen you in anything?

These girls tell me that question pops up often when talking to guys as they're hot and most guys don't know what to say plus the question often comes up. They say the love side of things is a tricky line to walk because they never want the guys finding out for many reasons. One girl said she told the guy she was doing porn once they were to about to start dating exclusively. He was still down to date her but said **** things like, "So obviously we're not exclusive right?" "So that means you're willing to do anything right?" Things like that, so usually these girls just say they work in some office. I know one girl who has been dating a guy for a few months and that dude is completely convinced she is a secretary at a law firm in Downtown LA :nonono:

AIDs isn't exactly a visible condition, so you could still say you're an actress without having to reveal you have AIDs.

Economist: $2B for Dodgers 'makes no sense'

"It's the craziest deal ever; it makes no sense. That's why you saw so many groups drop out," said Mark Rosentraub, a University of Michigan sports management professor. "I don't get it. The numbers just don't work. It doesn't make business sense. Nobody came up with this number. Under the most favorable circumstance you broke $1.1 billion with $1.4 billion getting crazy. Now you're up in the $2 billion range, which is over $800 million more than what pencils out for a profitable investment for a baseball team. If making money doesn't count, this is a great move. But now we're into buying art and I can't value art. I can just run the model numbers and this doesn't make sense."

One of the biggest reasons the Dodgers sold for $2 billion is the regional sports network battle currently being waged in Los Angeles between Fox and Time Warner. Last June, commissioner Bud Selig rejected a proposed 20-year, $3 billion deal between the Dodgers and Fox. The decision, according to Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, pushed the team into bankruptcy and forced him to sell the team. Last December, the Angels agreed to a new deal with Fox worth at least $3 billion over 20 years, which helped the team land Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson in free agency. Last year, the Lakers announced they would be leaving Fox to join Time Warner for a deal reportedly worth $5 billion over 25 years.

The Dodgers are expected to sign a similarly lucrative deal with Fox or Time Warner, or they could simply start their own regional sports network like the Yankees have with the YES Network. The problem economists have with the sale of the team being tied to the television contract is teams use their television deals as revenue to improve the team, not to offset the costs of overpaying for a franchise.

"One of the things that commissioner Selig was trying to avoid when he did not authorize the contract between McCourt and Fox was he thought McCourt would take the money and pocket it instead of using it to build the Dodgers," Zimbalist said. "That indirectly will happen anyway because McCourt is going to get his money and the new ownership will have to use a good chunk of the television money to pay off their asset purchase."

Unlike the Angels and Texas Rangers, which signed a similar 20-year, $3 billion deal with Fox, the Dodgers' new television deal won't simply be a nice influx of cash used to upgrade the roster. It will likely be used to pay for the team, pay for improvements to the stadium and pay for developing the land surrounding the stadium.

"If you take the Fox deal or try to start your own network that's going to eat down your capital cost and you've just lost a huge share of revenue," Rosentraub said. "That's a source of revenue that other teams depend on and that's the issue. The Texas Rangers are swimming in cash and the Angels are swimming in cash because they didn't have these huge capital costs and their TV income is coming into the general operating fund. Well, you're not going to get that with the Dodgers. Not only that but you have problems with the stadium and have to make a significant investment in improving it. That's something the Angels and Rangers don't have to do. Then you have the parking and land surrounding it where you now have a partner in McCourt, who is at best, well, unpredictable. Sounds like a great deal, doesn't it?"
