You could get some experience in countries like Vietnam where I'm at. The benefit is that you can travel and experience something you wont get if you stayed home. Strongly advice to check the rest of the world especially while you are young.

I haven't done much research but everything that I've read says that there is not enough data to support that it is better for you or to justify the extra cost.
