As a pistons fan, I would suggest an Odom for Prince trade in principle.

Also I will throw out an Rasheed Wallace and Billups trade for Bynum if there is no odom for Prince trade.

I like the Idea of picking up Billups.

Odom for Billups

If Artest opts out pick him up as a free agent

Dream but a good one.

We could use a good point.

I also Like Odom for Marion but not for Artest. We should pick him up for free agency or trade Vlade rad and Sasha for him. Artest wants a contract but Sac is not going to give him a big one. They will rebuild young

Hinrich is a good fit for the triangle IMO. Perfect fit? That would be Chauncey Billups.

If Hinrich doesn't step up considerably from what he did last season, I wouldn't want him on that contract.

Trading Odom for Billups (should Detroit be interested) just makes so much sense on all levels for us IMO. Elite defender at PG, extremely clutch, dead eye shooter, great passer, team oriented, leadership abilities. Can't ask for more.

Even if we don't get Artest, I'd love this unit:

Billups - Bryant - Ariza - Gasol - Bynum

If Detroit are willing to move Billups in a deal centered around Odom, we must take it IMO.

What if we traded Odom for a pick+...

Say maybe to NY for the 6th plus a player? Any options out there that might be appealing?

I think Odom would be cool with going to NY and this type of move gives us a money break...

Rasheed would need to be based around Odom, so I don't think you guys go for it.

Odom for Billups is interesting, hate to do big for small but intriguing. Depends on who steps into our SF position.. Ariza? Kobe to SF and start Sasha at SG?

yes... quickreply is back!

no picks we are an already young win now team at this point, not a stockpile youth team.

That's true, but we're also going to be a free agent target and need salary relief...

Not that anybody we'd draft would actually play, but at least we can afford draft talent.

I dont know if this has been talked about any in this thread but this trade was being discussed over on the Bulls board. Would you guys be willing to trade Odom for Hinrich and Nocioni? Sounds like a really good trade for both teams.

Lakers
Hinrich/Farmar/Vujacic
Bryant/Vujacic/Ariza
Nocioni/Walton
Gasol/Turiaf
Bynum/First Rounder

Bulls
Rose/Gordon/Thabo
Gordon/Hughes/Thabo
Deng/Thabo
Odom/Tyrus/Gooden
Noah/Gooden/Gray

Obviously, the trade would have to be done AFTER both Hinrich's and Nocioni's BYC status expires. Just interested in seeing what you guys thought.

sounds intersting

Hinrich sounds like a good fit, but is Nocioni the kind of tough, defensive minded SF we are looking for?

Maybe Kobe could move over to the 3 on D...

Nocioni is a decent defender. In his first couple of years, he got alot of credit for being a great defensive player because of his scrappiness. However, it wasnt long before most Bulls fans were able to distinguish the difference between scrappiness and good defense. Tends to take gambles on flops. Sometimes he gets the benefit of the doubt, and other times it can create a liability. Overall though, he is a DECENT defender. Not great. His mid-range game is good, and has developed a very legit long-range game. He is not a player to be ignored on the offensive end. For you guys, he would be the "other piece" in this trade. The big upgrade for the Lakers would be Hinrich. So Nocioni should be considered as a very nice throw in.

Im not sure of what type of contract Fisher is on. However, he could always be used as a back up combo gaurd for you guys. If not that, maybe trade bait at the deadline to a team thats looking for some solid veteran leadership or a contender that is in need of a veteran gaurd (somebody where he wont exercise his no trade clause).

I've been harping about Billups for years here. Now, he's almost too old. I believe that Gasol is the perfect match with Bynum, but there are a few players I'd entertain trading him for.

Gasol for re-signed Brand (I'd be shocked if he opts to stay)
Odom for G Wallace or Battier (good luck, Mitch)
Radmanovic for a small bag of salted potato chips

Billups/Fisher/Farmar
Kobe/Sasha/Karl
G Wallace (or Battier)/Ariza/Luke
Brand/Posey (MLE)/Mihm
Bynum/Kurt Thomas (LLE)/Silent M

How's that for a total pipe dream dynasty line-up?

NY Trades: Randolph, Crawford, and James
NY Receives: Odom, Radman, and Fisher
NY Drafts: Westbrook or Augustin @ #6

Why for LA? They would now have a solid 3-man big rotation with Pau, Randolph and Bynum. Those guys will clean glass and score in the paint to compliment Kobe's perimeter and slashing game. Ariza and Walton would have to hold down the SF spot while Crawford would have to be more of a distributor and insurance against when teams double Kobe like the Celtics did.

Why for NY? Not only does NY get shorter contracts, they get 3 players that fit nicely into what D'Antoni likes to do. Odom can play SF or PF and Fisher and Radman bolster the bench nicely as 3-point threats. You draft a PG like Westbrook to bolster the perimeter defense or a guy like Augustin to run the show immediately.

Plan a Gerald Wallace
Plan b Ron Artest
Plan c Tyshanwn Prince
Plan d Richard Jefferson (He would be plan A if not for salary)

They will trade him.
