SlavaMedvedenko wrote:Hey Gek, need some info on visiting Pitt.

I will spend around a day at Monroeville but will have a day to hang around the city, do I book a hotel downtown and if I do that can I find shuttles from the airport to hotel or do I need to rent a car for all practical purposes?

I was hoping to hire a cab for the to and fro visit to Monroeville and just walk around in the downtown area for the other stuff. I will be visiting in Feb most likely around the long weekend time.

They have shuttles and city buses from the airport to downtown. It'll be cold in february and possibly snowy, but walking in Pittsburgh is very doable and a quick bus ride will get you most places walking isn't feasible. I've lived there for 3.5 years now without a car. I'm not sure on hotels downtown because I don't go down there much outside of sporting events, but there are plenty all over the city. What are you going for, work?

Happy New years to you guys!! :-D
Dont drink and drive. Remember to pull over when you take a swig and proceed when you stop drinking. Repeat in intervals of stop and go while you are drinking and you should get home just fine

Thanks man! I was planning to visit the Indian temple there, its pretty famous in the US and something I planned to do for a long time, now seems like a great time.

Would love to meet you as well if you are around at that time.
