Eh. We have a good relationship with Houston. They're interested in Bynum so I'd rather have the Rockets be the third team anyways. Don't wanna help Gilbert after the whole Paul fiasco.

Dwight Howard hasn't personally informed the Los Angeles Lakers that he would re-sign next summer, but he's expected to do so very soon.

Bet Dwight doesn't even know Kennedy is alive.

Houston wants Dwight too though, Bynum is Morey's plan B I believe. I dunno I don't see Houston saying "OK you can have Howard and we'll help you get him".

I think once Morey is convinced Dwight won't be staying he'll accept Bynum, it's either that or Morey may lose out on a star player, and we all know how hard it is for Houston to attract stars. I wish Yao was still healthy and dominating, would be sweet to continue to watch him, stupid knees/foot issues :(

I believe Howard breaking his silence and saying he's open to committing to us does a lot to that. That's one major half of a puzzle finished, all Bynum has to do is show some interest in re-signing in Houston after his contract expires and I think a deal is done. Up until this morning I'm sure Houston operated under the assumption that Howard really didn't want to go to either them or LA but that since he really has nowhere to go they'd roll the dice.

The main issue Houston has now, IF the rumor about Dwight wanting to resign in LA are true, is that they probably have a lesser chance of convincing him to stay. Plus the rumored deal where they were gutting their roster to take 4 Orlando players and give up their 2011 and 12 rookies with future 13 draft picks was reported false. If that deal was real it would have been done already.

Getting real excited. Havent felt this way since we last won championships after acquring Pau and after acquring Shaq..

I mean, I am just mesmerized by this starting lineup:

KOBE NASH BYNUM GASOL MWP
(and I always considered MWP a star, unlike all the others who wanted him amnestied. why? He's our key stretch defender)

JAMISON
J HILL (please re-sign)
EBANKS (please stay)
J ONEAL ?

Minus J Oneal, we have our shortened 8-man rotation for playoffs and I think is outstanding.
Cant wait for this season. Let's go!!

I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.

I think if Asik doesn't get matched by the Bulls it puts the nail in the coffin for Houston

It's not real, the reality is Houston isn't offering nearly as much as some have reported for an uncommitted Howard. The only report about Houston's deal to ever come from a reliable name (David Aldridge) had Houston offering Toronto's pick, filler, one rookie from the previous draft, and taking back one bad salary of Orlando's.

Chicago's already said they're not matching him, and no it doesn't. It just means Houston is going to have to play Asik as a backup until he's eligible to be traded, if someone will take his contract.

The cap holds for Lin and Asik both are $16 mil, so that's -$16 mil that Houston has to work with.

Keep in mind that Gilbert did the same thing with the Nets and Magic deal for Howard. They were on the cusp of having it done and he "suddenly" decided that he didn't want to commit to Kris Humphries. He will c-block this deal at the end of the day.

The move is with Houston. And now even more so because Bynum's agent is posturing. I think he'd rather see him in Houston - bigger market.

He only cockblocked one deal and its pretty stupid that people think he had that much power over the CP3 deal. He bailed out of the Nets deal because Kris Hump wanted a 4 year deal and he wasnt trying to pay Hump for 4 full years. In this case he has everything to gain. If I were you I'd be more worried about whether the Magic or Bynum would be cockblocking this deal.
