How? They got Mike Conley. They no longer have to rely on Rubio. Korver had said he would retire while there so thjey don't have to buy him out. They kept Exum. They kept Favors. They created 26mil in cap room.

The only tricky thing with them is disabled player exception. Do they get one over KD or not if they appeal to the league? that and their exemption might help them

It KD resigns with the Warriors it's because he wants to be a Warrior. I don't buy the whole we'll let him rehab for a year and then entertain possible trade options once he's healthy.

Agree. I think this year has to be an all time low for media reporting. It's almost as if these guys are simply throwing darts at this point. Would the Knicks even have the requisite salary for matching purposes? Would GS even be interested solely in a TE? The Knicks largest contract is currently 7.5m. If the Knicks miss out on all the big names, are they simply going to sign players they think the Warriors would be interested in?

True, I think GS is just trying to cover themselves. In theory, KD would just be going to a team with less assets after a trade.
