That's a darn good pick. I forgot about A.D.

I wonder why they traded him after just one and a half season. He looked like a beast everywhere he's been.

It's tough picking guys that I didn't see play much, only year I saw AC play was '99-'00. But I always thought he was a good PF to play along Shaq, he had range from 12-15 feet which gave Shaq the space to operate down low and he always battled on the glass (even at 36 years old when he came back to LA).
Thank you, Phil.

I like AC Green pick. He is one of my favroit players in Lakers history(top 5).
But in 1999-2000 he was not a good fit to play with Shaq. He was just a starter ny name because he did not get the most min at PF and was not in the game late in the 4 Q.
What Phil Jackson and Shaq said in there books that they respectit him so mutch and he was a great vetran. But he had no ranges that gave Shaq litle space (both Phil and Shaq said they were always telling him to stay away from the paint).
But on the showtime Lakers he was athletic, could run well and finish. He played hard and was physical. I think people forgot but he played in one Allstar game( 1990).
AC Green was a 6-9 solid PF that gave everything to the game and his nick name was Iron man because he played so many games with out missing .

p.s I like this guy so mutch that i wanted to say somthing about him.
Lakers 72,80,82,85,87,88,00,01,02,09 and 10 champions

Dick "Fall Back Baby" Barnett (1962-1963)

Image

Averaged 18 a game on .471 Shooting in the regular season and 16.8 on 47% in the playoffs. He had a 17.6 PER in the playoffs too. He was also a nutty 82% FT shooter.

17.6 PER is nothing worth mentioning dude. IIRC the league average is normally around 15.

So what you're saying is... He's above average.

It was higher than anybody on the Lakers this post-season but Kobe and Pau (Unless you count Ammo... And you NEVER count Ammo :P )... 2pts higher than Odom who played roughly the same minutes... Just saying...

And I need a SG... It seems like good SG's are getting harder and harder to find. And I have NVE and Kap so all I really care about is a spot up shooter with a high percentage and decent PPG...

He averaged 18 on a team with Bailor and West... Not too shabby...

Not to mention 3 pts higher than Divac's playoff PER of 14.7 in 94-95. j-far's 2nd round pick.

Ha, Ha,

I didn't take it that way... PER is kind of a love it or hate it... I think it's over-hyped frankly. But it was an interesting stat to add to the post.

It was just such a hard pick to make. There are still a lot of talented players on the board and it was hard to pass up maybe better talent in order to fill a specific need.

But I made a calculated risk based on what seems to be dwindling talent at the 2... We'll see how it pans out...

This is a blast though, and I'm definitely picking up some potentially useful trivia along the way.
