What does this leave Lakers?

- Lauri gonna cost too much, forgot that pipe dream lol

- J. Grant = seems to be only option??

- B. Lopez = Gonna cost at least 1 pic and Is he worth trading for?

- "King" Kuzma - Just rumor talk??

What else Is there?

May be off on the money, but:

Orlando:
Wendell Carter Jr. for Vanderbilt/Reddish and future 1st (protected).

Blazers:
D'Lo and Rui for Jerami Grant (about 6M less incoming salary, which should open up tax-MLE)

Use tax-MLE on Tyus Jones.

In other words you essentially swap D'Lo, Rui and Vando for Tyus, Carter Jr. and Grant.

Lebron - Reaves - Grant - Carter Jr. - AD
Tyus - Vincent - Christie - Knecht - Wood - Giles - Hayes

Rui and DLo can score but can't defend=16th in DRTG.
Vando, Reddish can defend but can't score=15th in ORTG. :banghead:
I know some here love Vando but players who can do really good things like him are being let go by their former teams bec they are such a liability on offfense. OKC already let go of their 6th overall pick and this guy can pretty much do everything good, facilitate/pass dictate tempo, super smart but...
6-9 flexible Kyle Anderson was pretty good to for TWolves and still let him walk for nothing. But my only concern is the Lakers having to give up 2 FRP's. :-?
That is why I'm leaning towards Cam Johnson, better shooter than Grant (career 3pt%) and DFS, another solid defender who shoots 35% from 3 if they can get them for just 1 FRP.

Unlike many here, I appreciate Pelinka. Love what he did with our Trading deadline 2 years ago moves. Love last year’s offseason moves including Hayes and Wood.

The only miss was Russ but I believe he didn’t orchestrate it but should have voiced stronger.

As for this offseason, I am still willing to give him the benefit and see how the season turns out.

He made a lot of good moves but giving player options for guys ( Reddish and Hayes) that 29 other teams didn't want, was pretty bad.
Now, it seems like that 5+ Million in salary needs to be dumped asap

Why does $5 million need to be dumped ASAP?

Having Reddish and Hayes as backup at $2.4m is bad? This is easy to unload if we want but who can we replace at that price? Both guys contributed to the team. Not perfect but useful backup vets and after 2 years, we can sign them for longer if we wish next year.

Why do you guys believe all the nonsense?

There's a reason why these 2 players picked up their player option, in case you failed to notice, 29 OTHER teams do not want to sign them because they are very bad players.
One of the lowest points of this team was when Reddish had to play more minutes than usual. His BPM last year was -3.2, both NEGATIVES IN OPBM AND DBPM. :banghead:
Lakers actually won so many games when he got benched for good.
Hayes is also a -0.4 BPM. He is a foul machine! 6.7 FOULS PER 100 possessions, his 2nd worst in his career.
What is a dumb about this is Rob didn't have to give then play options, if he believes he can help then freaking resign them.
Now they have 14 active contracts, no more room for a player or 2 who they think can help.

They are vet and 3rd string players signed to vet min and what 2024 second round picks are signed to.

They fit their role. Who cares if no other teams wanted to sign them. They could easily sign with other teams esp Hayes but similar pay and better to stay in LA.

Why the drama?

agreed. would you do it for Lauri? that's the tough call. ... because they'll ask for the pics too. I would be down for top 5 protected swaps with reaves, Dlo, cam, wood, for Kessler, sexton, and Lauri coming back

My biggest concern is their perimeter defense esp who is defending/chasing the opposing Small Forwards.

So you have AD at PF if you want to maximize Kessler's value?
If not AD at 5, then Lebron or the 7-0 Lauri at 4?
So is it realistic for the 40 yr old Lebron to chase Klay, Jaden McDaniels, Beal,MPJ in the perimeter?

Agreed. Not a good fit with Davis and James.

The Trent signing also would come with salary/cap baggage vs rookie contract, though I'm not sure this is true yet

D Lo needs to be traded to a team where his offensive prowess and teachings are needed more than they are here.
Since the 1976 merger LAL 11, CHI 6, BOS 6, SAS 5, GSW 4

PG: Luka / Vincent / Smith
SG: Reaves / Knecht / Bronny
SF: Smart / LaRavia / Thiero
PF: Bron / Rui / Vando / Kleber
C: Ayton / Hayes / Koloko

Russell needs to play in a three-guard rotation where the other two guards are defensive dogs.

He'd be an excellent third-guard behind Holiday and White in Boston.

That's his ideal role. That's how he'd shine.

Vucevic and Capela are $20m Cs that could be traded for.. GTJ could come on TaxMLE.

Would you trade DLo+Vando or Rui+Vincent for GTJ and one of Capela or Vucevic?

I’m personally most interested in the next generation Centers. Wemby and Holmgren can’t be ignored. They’re not going away, only getting better. Vucevic and Capela are not equipped to slow them down. Nobody is, I know, but someone mobile and active on defense like Kessler is to me a better bet than the old guard. I’d take B Lopez due to his length, otherwise gimme a young C.

I’d do D Lo and Vando (or Reddish) for GTJ.

Gary Trent shouldn't be paid more than 13 mill ion a season, on the contrary he should be getting less and a good trade would be Vando for him straight up.

I also disagree with how Lauri would not fit next to Anthony Davis and LeBron. He is a perfect lengthy small Ford similar to what Michael Porter provides on Denver, but better
