1st half analysis: Pistons playing very aggressively on defense, generating turnovers and getting points in transition. Also hot from perimeter shooting.
Lakers's execution came through only a handful of possessions. Kobe was assessed many turnovers, some of them were very questionable noncalls by the refs. He got mauled on several of them. Some of the others were passes that were picked off or missed by his teammates. In general, playing very under control, mechanical, not panicking. Did a great job of getting to the foul line to keep us in the game when it seemed like the Pistons were going to pull away from us.
Turiaf did an excellent job of playing off Kobe, didn't miss any shots. Fisher is playing well; Billups is too strong for Farmar. Odom isn't doing much on offense, he did have a few good passes and is doing a good job rebounding.
Radmanovic is a major liability on defense, the Pistons are just attacking him. We gave up a few possessions trying to feed him in the post.
All in all, I thought we didn't panic as a team, we got players in the game that can perform their roles under pressure, and we made this a game.
Probably a major key in the first half was that referee Jack Nies decided that the Pistons were getting away with too much on defense, and called it tighter, allowing the Lakers to finally run some offense.

Well, when the Pistons are just running down and making layups, how many free throws are they going to shoot?
Kobe is forcing the tempo to slow down, our team is trying to force the ball into the post - that's why we're shooting more free throws.
Also, because the Pistons are reaching, grabbing, doubling, etc. They're playing aggressive defense, and some of it is illegal.
There's no rule that both teams should shoot equal amount of free throws.

I thought it would have been worse. We just need to cut down on the turnovers and we might have a chance to steal this one.
