And the style was meant to be a ripoff of lost, not friends.

I'm going to have to disagree. The first few seasons displayed arguably the most realistic depiction of interpersonal dynamics between young professionals who are friends. The overlying arcs were about finding yourself and realizing what you want in a relationship, what love really is to you, e.t.c. were very poignant and hit close to home - especially when you're of the same age/place-in-life. In that sense it hit close to home for many, even obviously disillusioned and cynical people (ahem: stephano).
I watched it until season 6 and it had its moments but the premise of the show and even the characters lack ingenuity to keep you interested and its especially damning if a query for "HIMYM Friends" returns 10.8 million results on google.

Sure, it was formulaic but it never really devolved into stereotypical sitcom shenanigans until the latter seasons, which as previously mentioned, were essentially a cash-grab for the producers and network bigwigs.
The Google search results denote a casual association, albeit a shallow one. It is a sitcom on CBS, it has to adhere to certain archetypes - naturally, friends/cheers come to mind - so it should be graded on a curve compared to some of it's contemporaries on other networks.
C'mon, you apes! You wanna live forever?

unfortunate for Schweinsteiger to get sent off, but i doubt bayern will skip a beat, they can just slot in gotze and be even more dangerous in attack. Man U just look clueless, i dont know why they wont play hernandez, hes way better than danny trashbeck

Oh yeah I agree with the CBS part, I guess HBO & AMC have set standards too high for regular networks with family friendly audiences to deliver similar product. The series has its unique quirks which were nice but I'd never relate to them because I've never lived in a big east coast city to have experienced a similar lifestyle.

This game pretty much summarizes Welbeck. Great technique, brilliant touches and singlehandedly put the best team in Europe on a backfoot, yet when the opportunity inevitable arrives he either slips, slides or totally messes it up.

Re: CT LVII: Sponsored by the Comm Thread's Redemption
I'm not sure it makes me a cynic or delusional to be pissed about that ending. The last 2 seasons were spent entirely building the relationship between Barney/Robyn and 9 was spent building the Mother/Ted. The whole time people are getting emotionally invested in those 2 relationships, the ending felt canned. They tried to stuff way too much **** into the final episode as if it didnt matter anyway.

Re: CT LVII: Sponsored by the Comm Thread's Redemption
Well, I never said you didn't like the ending because of your inherent cynicism, but rather that in spite of that trait you liked the show (at first anyway). And I never said anything about you being delusional, instead I said you were disillusioned (probably a reach - but that's what I've gathered about you).
I agree with pretty much all your points, that's why I wholly disregard the last three or so seasons because they are a product of blatant opportunism by the network - the show was meant to be concluded prior. If you view the ending through that lens it works.

That death was what made me hate the ending the most. It was all of 10 seconds like it didn't matter.

I liked the continuous, unbroken shot of the chicken shack robbery; it was like a series of vignettes. Also, the low angle on the pier when everything was neon was cool.
Otherwise I don't think it's anything special, I mean the themes were a little on the nose - so it's not like it was uber-deep.
Fight me
On the bright side, Franco was as good as billed. Might be his best performance thus far.
what about harry osborne?
