I wasn't at the Fultz workout obviously but i hate the idea of moving up for assets to get him.

Can't tell if Magic really loves Fultz, is just obsessed with winning the draft, or this is all prestidigitation...
But I agree, dumping a bunch of assets to move up one spot would be silly... Moreover, it smacks of insecurity... Like Magic said right after the lottery and like Mitch said the last few years, having the first pick is a double edged sword... Sometimes it's better to let the first pick go and take the best available player next because a lot of times the 1st pick doesn't pan out and if you do it wrong, you pay for it for years. So it'd be like moving yourself into a more pressurized situation for marginal upside.

Fultz may very well be the next Westbrook, but he's not projecting much better than that, and that's a crazy high bar for him to reach... Whereas Ball may be a taller Jason Kidd... Ball's a slightly bigger risk, but the team reward is also a lot higher.
Never have rice at Hanzo's house...

Simple boys... Magic loves Ball... Celtics love Jackson... Philly overpays for #1 and grabs Fultz... Lakers get Ball & Ainge gets his boy Jackson and more assets, like Ainge always does... Magic wants Ball...

Totally agree !! Happy with #2, then wait around to trade assets after the summer.

But he's at least a couple steps behind the line. Unlike Randle.

i think Magic just pumping up Fultz value, and he hopes Ball fall to him.

seriously guys, Lonzo's game translate well in stats and eye test. He's probably the best prospect in this draft.

Great news. Amazing to see Boston pass up on such an impact talent.

Probably asked for 2nd and Russell or Ingram. Even I wouldn't go that far. Lol

Ainge passes up on talent in the draft all the time. Nothing new here. At some point you have to start utilizing your assets. It's almost like he won't be satisfied unless he has the first five picks in a draft.

I really can't believe the C's do this trade as described by Woj.

Great for us if they do, but I think that's a pretty bad deal for them.

Do it Danny!

This probably saves Michael Lucky from becoming a Celtics fan though.

Lakers are in a vulnerable position here... do they take Ball, the perfect prospect for the Lakers, or do they send him to Phoenix who like him as much as Philly likes Fultz? These Deng and Mozgov contracts continue to haunt us. If they are serious about bringing in those '18 FA's, might have to act now...

Great point!
The only way I'd consider dealing with PHO would be if one of those contracts could be off-loaded.
On the other hand, even if they could get rid of one of them, it would be very hard for me to let go of the opportunity to draft someone like Ball who is seemingly a perfect fit for what we need, now, and in the future.

Yup, and Ball is likely to help increase whatever value our current group was lacking in the eyes of other FO's around the league. Ball makes sense for an increase in wins, increase in ratings, as well as increase in trade value for our players. Such a risky operation to pass on a talent like Ball in hopes of a star/s signing with us down the road.
