Shooting Stars man. Burn bright. Sad his daughter and others were also in flight. Sorry for everyone's losses. Special player and special to have had the opportunity to see his career.

It’s probably really hard, Jeannie Buss and the Lakers haven’t said anything yet.

The are 30 NBA fan bases in the league but only one family. From one member of the family to your's, my condolences. Three young daughters have lost not just their father but a sister. That breaks my heart.

Prayers to Kobe's family.
RIP Mamba.

Going to be so hard to go into work tomorrow. I've NEVER felt this way for any person that I didn't know. Although, it seems like my family member passed away.

Kobe and the Lakers have been a huge part of my life. I've been a fan for 35+ years and had the pleasure of watching Kobe's entire career. Love him or hate him, he's an inspiration and has achieved remarkable heights as a human.

Here's a pic I'd like to share with me and my wife after getting married at our home in 2010. He'll be forever in our memories.

You still got that Kareem jersey man???

You mean this one? ;)

Absolutely man. I wouldn't think of parting with it.

For those who don't know, me and Sedale met up a while ago and he gifted me an autographed Kareem jersey after (or was it before?) I treated him to a Lakers/Spurs game. I think those were the only 2 times we met IRL but that just goes to show you how strong the Lakers family is.

Awesome, man, awesome. I honestly can't remember which came first. But I definitely remember driving up to Austin to meet. Time freaking flies. Glad you are still enjoying it.

I'm not a particularly emotional person, but this one is getting me. And I was somebody who always wrestled with him and his playing style. (Not to mention 04.) Even more It just brought home how many hours and hours and hours I've spent living and dying with this team over the years, since I first started all the way back in 1987. Agonizing over games. Spending god knows how much money on swag and tickets and memorabilia. Being lucky enough to be in New Jersey for the Finals clincher in 2002 and bumping into Snoop Dogg in the parking lot after.

It's only a game, and it doesn't necessarily mean anything in the grand scheme of things, but it's such an enormous part of our lives. And we're so, so lucky that we've had so many great players and teams to enjoy over the years.

What's really crushing me is that his daughter was there. Kobe at least got to 40, and lived enough amazing experiences for 100 lifetimes. But she was still just a baby. I have two nieces around the same age and our family would be crushed beyond recovery if anything happened to them. I think about the other three growing up without their big sister and my stomach just curdles.

Lamar Odom's post got me hurting even more. The poor guy would take his own life to save Kobe's...

It's almost 3 AM here. The news about Kobe here are everywhere (tv, social media, sport news). I can't sleep, probably won't be able to until late in the morning...

Such a hard day/night, it just feels too much. I just can't...all the tributes, interviews, moments, it's just too much. This hits really hard...
