Robert Williams has about zero trade value right now so that is a big no.

Beggars can't be choosey.

You'd be getting him for Vincent, Hayes, and a pick that was never yours, so basically he'd be coming for free.

He's in my trade package because he's gettable and he fits like a glove, same with LaVine.

These are the type of guys who can be had for the Lakers' scraps without giving up more Laker firsts.

It's time to be realistic -- and take some meaningful chances.

Why we still placing Bron as a PG, this places him more on ball then off ball doesn't???

JJ gonna see Reaves playing more point IMO - and while many of us including me don't really see Reaves as a true PG I think he'll be seeing a lot of time there this season under JJ - unless of course traded but don't see a trade involving Reaves happening

You're absolutely right. James will probably not be the point guard of this team ... but he should.

The last time James played point guard full-time the Lakers won hardware, and that's not a coincidence.

He's a remarkable facilitator when his role is defined. If I were Reddish and James was actually open to being coached, I'd challenge James to pass more and score less, to rebound more and score less. I'd challenge James to average a triple double (largely a PG stat).

This team with James averaging 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists would have a much higher chance of winning a ring than if he averaged 23-7-7.

Guys like LaVine, Trent, Reaves, Knecht, and Christie need to be empowered for the Lakers to be great. No greater way to empower them than a top 5 player of all-time and leading scorer of all-time forsaking his own scoring numbers to pass to and elevate "lesser-thans".

It'll never happen, but it should.

I think if your willing to take that Levine contract, and bail out the Bulls FO....you can have just about anything you want. I doubt very seriously that the Lakers would entertain anything like that. I think our FO are a bunch of dopes.....but the taxes your paying to get Levine and SOAR over $40 million into the 2nd apron (is there a 3rd apron??? We'd prob be there too) for 3 years. Our FO has shown themselves to be a little......"sensitive" (shall we go with that word?) to the taxes that comes with going over these caps.

Personally, I'd rather see what we got with this Knecht kid, that tossing bags of $$$ at overpriced, semi-decent Levine.

It's these new 'apron's' folks. Its why there's not a team out there that wants to touch DLo. Besides the tax hit...the punitive rules make it an absolute no-go. Levine's praising his lucky stars that he got the contract when he did. It's a new NBA. Guys like Levine, DLo, and the rest of the middle-range guys are never gonna see that kinda $$$ again. $30 mil for DLo??!! Seems insane before all this. Now....it's pure fantasy. He's a MLE player AT BEST moving forward. He knows it. It's why he opted in.

Dalen Terry and Julian Phillips are the answers to your question. No way they include Matas.

If I'm the Lakers, the priority wouldn't be Terry or Phillips. They need to be focused on stealing a first round pick from them. That, in and of itself, is an accomplishment. If they get LaVine and a 2025 first from CHI that is the only theft that matters.

The Lakers could insist on the inclusion of one or both of Phillips and Terry to completely fleece CHI, but I hope they'd know how to stop when they're ahead.

I've seen Terry play. He's an Iguodala-type defender, ball-handler, athlete who can't shoot. Phillips I know nothing about.

I actually value Torrey Craig, so I wouldn't even want both of those guys. Craig is valuable to me because I plan on playing Knecht and Lewis big minutes off the bench, and they need an old vet to push them and ultimately beat out.

That's a sweet-ass deal for Portland, my friend. I'm seriously questioning your wisdom and know-how.

As their tanking/developing their young guys, Portland gets complete control of their next four drafts with this deal, and the only cost is a broke down center they don't need (because of Clingan and Reath).

This is a no-brainer for Portland.

Opinions vary.

POR doesn’t need or want those players and the POR FRP is probably going to be a SRP.

No point at all in making this trade. Take out the 2 SRP from POR and I still wouldn’t make this trade.

I think your mind state is extremely shortsighted.

Portland, 1-13, is one of the deepest teams in league. Thybulle and Murray might be the most expendable guys on the roster, and both of them are damn good.

They absolutely have a chance in the next four years to be a playoff team and lose their pick.

And POR does need Vincent and Hayes. Vincent would be the third PG (right now it's Avdija). Hayes would be a third string center (moving Reath to PF).

The only problem with this trade idea is that POR would have to trade a guy from their immensely deep roster (probably Thybulle into some team's TPE).

POR has -zero- stars on the roster at this time and this is a stars league. There isn’t even one competent pg on the roster.

POR has no need to make this move and should conserve assets for moves that actually improve the teams prospects. This does neither.

This is solid for LAL and not worth consideration for POR.
