I needed to grab the microphone after the Clippers loss. Please, everyone here we have an announcement. Please take all of your clipper paraphernalia and Clippers banners, and Clippers Styrofoam finger waving things, and get the heck out

Paul George missing the play-in game with COVID is the perfect bookend to the Kawh-PG-Streetlights not spotlights experiment.

The interview posted here today on DeMarcus Cousins is a real eye-opener:

I believe I was on record saying the Lakers should sign this guy in January, given their problems underneath the rim.

Lakers need to take a look at getting Turner...

They going to need a center for when AD goes down, unless Lakers make a trade for AD as well - let's hope

They need to let loose of AD ... AD doesn't play even half a season ...

As for Center. I'd go with Turner, Howard, Cousins You need big bodies.
And as for Turner I'm high on him going to break out real soon on the right team and after Bron leaves he'll have lot's of playing time

Howard still has enough gas for 20min a game Cousins can play garbage time, injury and foul trouble time etc

So I tried to watch a couple games during the week. The NBA's overall level of talent/fundamentals is declining as far as I can see. Some really poor play/games. Sure a few were close but little in the way of truly great basketball.

I watched the Toronto Philly game. And that was just a miracle shot waiting to happen. What I mean was, the offensive sets and structure run was totally non-existent. Total crap. Lousy. So that the only way to score at the end was a miracle shot. Offensive Execution from Philly was a 7footer jackin up 3s, so much so, the only thing left on the table offensively for Philly, was for Doc Rivers to call a final play with...yes you guessed it, Embiid Jackin up a 3. And hey, it went in.

Yup.... world class athletes playing "Y-Ball" for 48... The product has taken a marked step back over the last 10 years. The 1 and done kids, plus the fascination with the 35% shot, has created a fairly boring product. The offensive sets are all designed to create a chuck rather than a shot at the basket. I counted 8 times in a half in an Atlanta game that a person less than 5' from the hoop who was more or less uncovered passed to someone covered for a 3 pointer. It's just stupid basketball.

While mostly true, one of many reasons I've stopped watching B-ball over the years.

They need to start bringing back East vs West in the all star game - make that fun again.

Some how find a way to stop all these players from forming super teams and all that crap.

This 3 ball era of basketball is so damn boring - even teams who can't shoot, just keep on shooting them hoping they'll get hot (ie Lakers) and eventually win games - It's just not fun to watch basketball anymore...

I'll still continue to watch highlights, but as for Laker games, I can't watch any more Lebron/AD/ Klutch sports until they off the team, so I'm pretty much done until they off the team - unless Lakernation do free games on youtube again, that was cool.

The days of balanced teams seem to be over. It's hard to find a good team that's 8 deep anymore that doesn't have one player averaging over 25 a game.

It's much better to watch offensive sets designed to get a basket.... over ones designed to get a basket for just one guy.... or ones where just one guy handles the ball for 18 seconds.

Every big man has to have a 3 ball... every fan want's a big that can shoot the 3. The difference in the team 2 years ago and this season is markedly scoring in the paint.

And on and on...

Those last few games where Bron/Ad didn't really play and all the young guys were playing, that's way more fun then watching Bron/AD ball every game, especially when 80% of the sets evolve ISO ball Bron, where Bron gets ball and other 4 guys just stand one side...

Let's hope to what ever coach Lakers get, they can get these guys to play team ball, move around play defense etc If they can't and It becomes ISO Bron or pick n roll crap with AD it's not going to work

I remember stupid people saying Marcus Smart wasn’t a better player than Julius Randle

They are a whole different level in terms of IQ and skill, let alone contributing to winning

We can hope for that but Bron is still firmly in charge here. His marketability trumps us winning in the Owner's eyes IMHO. Bron isn't going to play off the ball in the 4th quarters and he isn't signing off on a motion style of offense where everyone is in movement. Just not whaat he does. He's still a great player and will get his numbers but he can't will his team to important wins any longer. The Bron dribble for 20 second and a fade away 3 or a drive kick to a stationary person at the 3 point line is our closing cadence from here until the end of this era.

Milwaukee pulled out a close one over Boston. Doggone. Any team that has Grayson Allen, I will root against.
