I get why some peoples favorite movies are dramatic, critically-acclaimed type of movies, but some people act like they can watch city of god more than once in a 5 year span. I thought City of God was amazing too, btw.

OTOH, I can watch Aliens like 12 times a year.

The only movies I can watch multiple times should have either great dialogue (Guy Ritchie, Scorsese, Tarantino kind) or great action scenes (predator, Rambo, Rocky etc)

wut why cant you rewatch city of god? its not that heavy that its difficult to watch. i think there will be blood is way harder to sit through multiple times. also how can anyone hate on dr strangelove. id also include all the pink panther movies because peter sellers is the ****.

I agree, Slava. Preferably a combination or great dialogue and action.

While Doormatt's top 5 is actually very solid, it's more like a technically best five movies he's watched rather than his favorite 5 movies .

I respect his opinion though.

Yeah I freaking loved Hugo but I cannot see that more than once.

I also forgot Westerns & comedy to the re-watchability list. I'd just watch Henry Fonda 3 times a day in Once upon a Time in the West. Also Old School & Hangover 1.

That's what I mean. I loved, absolutely adored, there will be blood. Can't watch it for like another few years though.

Westerns are the ****, agreed.

i think its a combination of both. because yeah one of the best movies ive ever seen technically is like Seven Samurai or Yi Yi but i dont enjoy those films as much as the others.

I recently watched up. It was a good movie and very sad, but not on my list.

Nemo?

Nemo
Lion King
Wall-e
Monster's Inc
Mulan

I have to say though that a lot of my impressions have to do with how much my daughters loved them. My oldest loved her some Mulan. Not sure it'd be that high if not for that.

Can we do the older Disney movies then? I thought it was just about Disney/Pixar?

this one is tough considering how the standard of quality for animated movies is rather high

also everyone has their own personal preferences colored by nostalgia, but thats what makes it fun.
