Collison at the point battles #21. IGGY takes #13 and/or Lou Will. AD takes #2. Morris battles Montrez down below. We then free up the King, to do his thing. And Now...Now Ladies and Gents... we got matchup problems for the opponent.

Neither can LeBron.
Iggy can. Morris could try.

Genetic fallacy. Why don't you address the arguments instead of trying to attack the messenger?
Why would the Lakers bring in Iggy to guard Lou will? Or Morris to guard trez?
If Iggy is a Laker, he's guarding kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Lou will is not going to be the reason the clippers advance past the Lakers should the clippers do it
Same thing with Morris/ trezz. Trezz is not going to be the reason clippers can win 4of 7.
Morris will be there to guard kawhi. He's not going to bother to guard trezz.
Frank Vogel would be killed by Laker fans and media if he decided to put Iggy on Lou instead of kawhi Leonard.
Am I saying anything controversial here? Freeing up the king would be doing what I mentioned above. Not what you stated.
You want kawhi Leonard to pull ad away from the rim?

Re: The Kuzma Thread
Bring me the hate for these facts
Essentially it becomes a scenario question of what does it take for the Lakers staff as a whole with the coaches to accept some blame. They have him playing 8 less minutes a night and shooting 5 fewer shots, and run no sets for him. He’s scoring at the same rate per minute which means you should have sets to get him open and also look for him in corners for theees where he’s hitting them at a high clip. He’s the best closing lineup fit of Dwight, Javale, and whoever as numbers show when he’s on the floor with both Bron and AD, which means he should be the guaranteed finish like Odom, Horry, or Kukoc. And his minutes need to be upped to 30 if you’re going to keep harping on him being the sixth man but not giving him the time of a sixth man
The Kuzma, LeBron and Davis trio had shared the floor for 160 minutes without another big man (Dwight or JaVale) on the floor. In those 160 minutes, the Lakers have an offensive efficiency rating of 116.3, and a defensive efficiency rating of 95.7, for a +20.6 net rating.
Essentially, the Lakers are outscoring opponents at a rate that would equal 20.6 points per 100 possessions when Davis, LeBron and Kuzma anchor small-ball lineups.
If you keep LeBron and AD on the floor, but remove Kuzma from those lineups (while still keeping Dwight and JaVale off the floor), the Lakers net rating goes down to +6.4 (offensive efficiency of 109.7, defensive efficiency of 103.3) in 125 minutes.
Kuzma averages 13.1 points in 25 minutes. this is .524 points per minute he's on the floor. you know what it was last year? .565. As a rookie, it was .516.
He’s been scoring, basically, at the exact same rate per minute he has his entire career.
He shoots 36.4% on spot-up three-pointers, but has been a killer from the corners, hitting 57.5% of his three’s from those spots.

Rondo would watch prime Antwan Jamison cut and not throw it to him because he didn’t go the route he said
I mean it will work in the playoffs I assume and hope the way he plays because it worked with the Pelicans and Bulls to but there are nights during the season you shake your head

Re: The Kuzma Thread
The focus on individual defense is really silly IMHO. The game is set up for an offensive player to have a massive advantage and guys like Leonard, Bron, Davis, George etc. will get theirs no matter what. Bringing in Iggy to guard Leonard would not help us much if any IMHO. Is Iggy starting? How does he have this magical match-up with Leonard if he doesn't. If he does who goes out... Green?
Defense is... and always will be a team aspect of the game in spite of "advanced stats" that imply that individuals can change an outcome alone.
I'd argue that we need more offense off the bench before we need a guy like Iggy. The one thing this team lacks is a guy who can initiate, get others involved and finish at the hoop while shooting decent from distance. Collison checks most of those boxes. Right now our defense hasn't been the issue in the losses we've had with the other top teams.... scoring consistently when Davis and Bron aren't in the game has been.

I've always argued that Vogel needs to get kuzma involved early so that he'll stay engaged in the offense. Vogel is also not really known as a great offensive coach but it's easier said than done. They might not have the personell to play kuzma the way that it's optimal all the time.

Because I want both teams to meet in the WCF. And I am a fan of individual players on the Lakers team.Beethoven wrote:why is this clipper fan always posting in our forum like he's at home here? pretending to be our friend and such ? just go post in your forum , no?
I post everywhere including the raptors forums from time to time. I like to talk with fans of actual teams vs the general board.

I don't get the hostility. I haven't been nasty interacting with any Laker fan here. I haven't said things that others including mods haven't said about the team. Kilroy isn't big on kuzma, is kilroy a clipper fan? You, Beethoven have been critical of kuzma, are you a clipper fan?
Laleshow said Lakers should get Iggy to guard PG and Lou. Am I trolling when I say Iggy would be coming to LAL to guard kawhi and Iggy, not louwill?
I'm not here to antagonize Laker fans. Hell, I'm probably the one that defends LeBron the most on here.

Re: The Kuzma Thread
Kuzma just doesn't seem comfortable doing thr dirty work aka getting in where he fits in. chances are that That is why the team doesnt
make a point to get him involved like they did kevin love back in the Cavs days. Also our third guy isn't kuzma. It's like a 7 headed monster of all our guards . But kuzma needs to get down and dirty if he wants a future

I agree but honestly I thought Vogel did a horrible job of using him last night. Yesterday was not the case of him missing shots or making terrible turn overs. He looked unengaged and I keep saying Frank has to do a better job of keeping him engaged in the game..run some actions for him, he gets in a rhythm stays locked in even if he isn't shooting the ball.Dmagic wrote:Kuzma just doesn't seem comfortable doing thr dirty work aka getting in where he fits in. chances are that That is why the team doesnt

Kuz only played 16mins. Barely any burn so I can't criticise him for this one.
Vogel made some great coaching adjustments last night, Howard on jokic, less rondo but he needs to look out for Kuz. It's not going to work all the time but he has to keep him locked in.
When Lou Williams comes in, almost every time he comes in, his first few touches are shots. Kuz needs something like that. Then return to schedule programming but allow the guy to try to establish an early rhythm

True. And it's only midway point of season. They probably just making kuz work for it first mentally and physically before they focus on the young guy. Once everybody else is good. Kuzma will be a delight. Hopefully they have thought this out
