Makes perfect sense. Tell me...why have the New York Knicks been the ball-sack of the NBA for 30+ years again?

Does it? That's quite a hole in your theory.

Well, I was gonna ignore this, and move on. But I figure if I can talk an NBA fan off the ledge, maybe it's worth it:

Look man, I get it's annoying. Seems like the Lakers always seem to get that star. But if you really think the NBA "sets this up" for the Lakers, then ask your self this: Why are the Knicks (largest market in the US) the biggest pile of garbage ever??

As amazingly unfair as the Lakers mojo seems to be.....it's mathematically unfathomable that the Knicks can blow chunks, the way they have for like 30 freakin years! They are an eternal dumpster fire! It's utterly unreal how they manage to dodge good luck, and good players. And yet there they are.....top market in the US.....suckin rocks year after year.

It's an absolutely fatal flaw in this theory. If the NBA was in the "fixin" business.....you'd have seen the knicks be anything but a sh**-sandwich just ONCE these last 30 years, no?

There. If that doesn't do it, I can't help you.

The remaining 99% are thrilled and ready to embrace Luka as the new face of the Los Angeles Lakers. As for those claiming AD is worth more than Luka, I wouldn’t take them too seriously. Maybe the legal marijuana has them confused, thinking we traded for Luka Garza instead. Who knows? One thing’s for sure, 99% of Laker Nation is beyond excited to see Luka in Purple and Gold.

I could count the number of Non-Lakers that I "like" on one hand and the number one, player was Luka, so VERY Happy here!

Dude had a 73 point game last year...!
I try not to get too excited about things I can not control....!

Doesn’t do it, no. It’s not about mojo and that’s a very naive thought. It’s way too weighted to be a coincidence.

Lakers/LeBron should try to convince Luka to lose weight...i want to see "bubble" Luka again...watch the highlights from the bubble....he was a lot faster, could beat the defenders with ease, didn't have to rely as much on his 3 Pointer...if he was leaner it would help him on D also
It would also help him longterm... he's only 25, he should be able to get close to that form...Just got to put the work in

I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.

Gotta feel bad for AD. This is from ESPN:

"In Dallas, the deal that brought the 10-time All-Star to the Mavericks has resulted in heartbreak and anger. Days later, the fan base remains in shocked disbelief that 25-year-old superstar Luka Doncic got blindsided by the blockbuster deal only months after he led the Mavericks to the NBA Finals. A protest is planned outside the American Airlines Center before Davis makes his Mavericks debut in Saturday afternoon's home game against the Houston Rockets."

AD had this to say:

"I understand it," Davis said Friday regarding the fans' outrage. "Obviously it's a business, and I get who Luka was to this franchise, to the city. I'm never going to downplay that -- just how I know what I meant to the city of L.A...."

And that's the part that gotta sting the worst....they're gettin ready to lynch the GM that made the deal, over in Dallas. Meanwhile, over here in LA, everyone is stoked. I'm sure $250 mil will take the edge off....but he's gotta feel a little disappointed with the complete contrast in fanbase reactions.

It’s wild man.

The NBA is a relationship business. That’s one of my arguments for why I don’t like Pelinka in the job. He’s got a lot of bad relationships in the league.

He’s got a few good ones and this worked out. Pretty much every deal we’ve made has come completely out of the blue and I think that’s helped him the last couple weeks.

What is the deal with AD being so eager to go to Dallas?

He waived his trade kicker and in his first game for the Mavs, he said he was very motivated to play well for his new team.

Considering what he went through to get himself traded to the Lakers in the first place, he seemed oddly happy to leave?

Presumably he liked the lifestyle in LA.

Lebron is understandably happy to play with Luka but they engineered to get AD over to the Lakers and it looked like their fates were locked together until LeBron retired.

But after all the drama he went through to get out of New Orleans and get to LA, you'd think he'd have been reluctant to leave.

terrible exit today, but yeah I think he probably felt he was capable of carrying a team and without a trade he was basically just watching for when Bron was going to go from old to "I retire" while still setting records and showing up, so AD might have gotten outlasted by that old ass mfer

AD wants revenge. At this point, I think AD and the Mavs has a better chance to win it all than the Lakers. Plus, AD gets to play as the 4 for the Mavs, which is what he had always wanted. I say, we better be ready the next time we face AD. That dude will gonna try to destory us.

Guess he was too motivated, came back from injury too early to play for the Mavs.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
