Imagine if we didn't trade for AD, drafted Garland, kept the young core, and just used the cap space that we had for a solid center and shooting guard back in 2019.

Valancuinas, Mcgee
James, Kuzma
Ingram
Rozier, Hart
Ball, Garland

We got the Chip. Mission Accomplished. However, looking back, we shoulda signed and traded or dumped him immediately after...lol

I think calling what we did here getting the single chip, "mission completed" is revisionist history... What was supposed to happen was Lebron gets us AD, who was supposed to be the face of the franchise that led us into the new, post-lebron era... Hopefully, while racking up multiple finals appearances in the process.
What we got is a chip, a bad LeBron movie, and the chance to watch him limp to Kap's scoring record, while the franchise circles the drain of ineptitude...

The only person associated with the Lakers right now that can rightfully say mission accomplished is LeBron... Everyone else looks feckless, useless or washed...

That said, AD can still play, especially when he doesn't have to deal with LeBron on the court... If we're not going to dump LeBron, then we should trade him for as many picks and assests as we can get, like tomorrow...
Never have rice at Hanzo's house...

I have a question about Bron and his Son

I know Bron wants to play with his son In last year and will go to any team who drafts him

Why doesn't he just get his son to go undrafted and say I will only play for Lakers - much like Reaves???

Not that I want Bron any longer then needed, but would be good for ticket sales etc

We’re weak down low. Cousins claims to be ready to go… We need an enforcer big man so that we can slide everyone over a position. I know he’s nuts and all.

He would do way better then D.Jones ... D.jones not getting any playing time and a waste of space IMO

Kobe’s friends Melo, Russ, Ariza, etc got contracts. Gianna’s favorite player league wide is Trae Young.

See article. Do it, Rob!

The Lakers need to stop sitting around waiting for other teams with stars to fail so they can swoop in like vultures. Focus on building a solid foundation here with talent and assets.

That way when the opportunity for a superstar does arrive, you’re ready, but you’re also not completely dependent on that strategy.

That's what they did before they got AD isn't it? Three #2 picks and some good finds later in the draft or UDFA (Caruso?).

They had to trade all of them and draft assets though but they did get a ring. But they were probably hoping for more than one with such a big trade or at least contend for a few seasons.

Going to be tough to build up a roster without FRPs for another 5 years?

As for Trey, unlikely the Lakers can get him unless AD is sent out.

That’s almost exactly what they did before they got AD (they didn’t make good use of their cap space during those years though).

And the Lakers do have first round picks, they just don’t have tradeable first round picks. Letting Westbrook’s deal expire is a terrible course of action, because it’s going to hurt their ability to operate as an over the cap team this offseason.

This.

On another topic around the NBA, Darvin Ham seems to not know how to make in-game adjustments, especially in halftime. Lacking experience.

Sounds like Bron the little sook wants out

Trade him/AD and Klutch sports and let's rebuild

Never wanted them in the first place and he can take his followers with him :)

Yeah. It’s time. He surely agrees. I’d guess if we asked Jeannie, she’d proudly state that he’s retiring his jersey as a Laker, which she sees as ‘her’ legacy accomplishment. I doubt anyone will convince her of letting it end any other way.

But I’d personally be ready to trade him for a smaller chunk of Cleveland’s starting five. And, sure, ship AD home for couple of players from Chicago’s starting five, or for a package around VanVleet and Siakam in TOR. Or for Ingram, Hart and McCollum. Or for Beal and Kuzma and fillers.

This season as it’s currently played by our team won’t get us to the WC playoffs. It will only get LBJ injured, playing run and gun for 82 games.

Then what, Darvin? Going to blame it on injuries or bring in a veteran coach to help you with some strategy savvy?

What exactly is the system when we remove LBJ, AD, RW?

Why such a high pace when two of our three stars are 38+?

Why not (to keep the seniors healthy) a slower tempo, fewer possessions, smash mouth grind-out and box-out defense, some type of slower set half court offense to get ready for the post season?

A triangle set or two with LBJ, AD and RW would work. I’d love to see a triangle where we place Russ in the high post, LBJ low post and AD as trigger man.

I’d like to see an identity of any kind defensively and offensively. It looks like free wheeled improv right now. I’d like to also see coaching adjustments in halftime.

A lot of buyout candidates for the Suns to pursue. What a terrifying team they have......

Was checking Vanderbilt's old stats to see one why the wolves didn't want to develop him. Then saw that the wolves have Jaden Macdaniels too. Macdaniels is a beast on defense. Never heard of him before

Is it time to pay for my Spectrum subscription again and watch watchable games again or is it still an inconsolable heartache fest debacle?
