whats ridiculous is your comments.....where are these so called mentally incapciated idiots at on this team? Signing a player of West caliber for vet minimum is far better then having a scrub like Vujabrick making $5mill/yr fouling people 30ft away from the basket

That won't be that big of a deal on the Lakers. On the Cavs he was surrounded by a bunch of clowns that only promoted his questionable behavior. With the Lakers, he'll be surrounded by veteran leadership and great coaching which is precisely the type of support system he needs.

I'd love to have Delonte. I've read enough Cavs game threads to know just how vital he was to them, and I think he'd be an excellent addition. He's a tough defender and a solid 3-point shooter. Pretty much exactly what we need.

My money was on Artest when he first got here, but that's not the point. The point is that we are trying to threepeat and we don't need any distractions right now. If West can stay in line great, but if he doesn't then there's Telfair because he's going to be waived by the T'Wolves as well.

Yeah, but if the issues come into play then we are in trouble.

Not really. Our championship hopes don't hinge on whether or not Delonte behaves, and if he starts acting up then we can just get rid of him. IMO, this is a low risk, high reward type deal and we shouldn't hesitate on taking a chance. It's either that or we're stuck watching Vujacic getting more PT.

I dont see how a role player is going to have any effect on the 3peat outcome, at worse he becomes looney again and is off the team, he isn't relied on the same way Artest would've been. At best he becomes another surprise positive like Ariza was.

I think he'd be a better starter then Blake or Fisher might as well give him the 3rd spot...

Rookie JJ Hickson complains about driving to Cincinnati to pick up hot Crispy Creme donuts for Delonte.

Although I love Delonte, I don't think people realize how bad his mental problems are which I must say is kind of sad for Delonte =(. With that said he has proven that he can work with a team and Phil Jackson could keep him in shape.

are you saying you know how bad it is? I mean prior to this last season, he hadn't been a problem and coaches/teammates didn't have anything negative to say bout him. It may have just been he forgot his meds you dont know I dont know, we're all just speculating based on his gun incident which if this was a berometer to judge ones sanity, how Sane is Arenas for actually bringing guns INTO the locker room?

Much like LeBron's bs, Delontes issues were covered up well by the Cavs. I think you guys might have the right cast to support him and I hope he turns it around. Some of my favorite Delonte moments:

I am sorry but I thought it was hilarious when the Cavs bench did that crap - especially for a guy like Delonte who was really going through some issues

Delonte could be D-Fish's insurance for the future. Fish is getting old, and West could be the PG of the future for the Lakers IMO.

I'd love to have him on our squad. I don't care what mental issues he has or may have had, this guy can play. Hope this happens, because our chances of a 3peat would be that much better.

Article claims that Lakers will probably add Delonte if they can get rid of Sasha's contract. Don't know exactly how "close" they really are to signing him.

This signing has the Zen Master's mind games all over it.

Can you imagine the poster campaign around the finals if the Lakers face the Heat? Imagine a giant billboard outside the Staples Center with a big portrait of Delonte West holding the championship trophy with the caption "Hey Lebron, who's your daddy?"

What's next? Paying Star Jones to sit court side at the finals? Let's bring out Bosh's estranged baby momma to heckle him on the sidelines. Go Phil Jackson. Go Delonte West. Go Lakers!
