If the virus dies down in a month or so, this could be excellent. LeBron gets another month's worth of rest and gets to go supernova in the playoffs.

If they resume play in a month would it be smart to just begin playoffs since other none playoff teams are far away from 8th seed. Maybe just forget about the last 16-17 games?

I hope they don't skip the rest of the regular season. I was kinda rooting for the Pelicans to squeeze into that 8th seed. Also, don't want to see Vince Carter go out like that. Really want to see him sent off the way he deserves.

I think the teams on the bubble in the 9-10 seeds might complain.

Shutdown for a couple of weeks and resume playing on until July - August. Then no preseason next season to give players that time off, and straight into the regular season. By then, things should be under control and we have a vaccine developed.

No preseason = 0 to 100 in just one game. You're either asking for injury or assuming teams will play their guys limited minutes in the first few games, knowing they might start the season on a losing streak.

It might be work for the August finals participants but those whose season ends in June will be at a very high risk.

All three teams had a chance IMO.

This sucks.

They better not cancel this season. We have the most riding on this season.

Also, better to shorten next season to cater to this one as lot of work went into this one.
It wouldnt make sense to keep next season regular and cancel this one. You have to go w finishing the work in the current season and just forgoing next season length a bit.

Good chance the season is over. The virus is still getting worse and the stabilization will take months. It sucks because we had a good chance at the title, but time to face reality.

Sure but I have coworkers in China who have been infected, recovered and released, and they say it seems like things are starting to lighten up there a little.
