Was checking Matthews stats. He barely missed time when he had his achilles tear back in 2015. Got injured in March 2015, but was ready for the first game of the season that October

He's impressive. Drive with creativity and is already a capable / good defender. Can still improve a lot in reading the game and passing etc. Should be ready to eat up some meaningful minutes in the regular season.

I am a bit concerned on the rim protection and rebound of this team though. Our team was outplayed by Zubac multiple times in the paint. Kostas seems not ready yet and got lost out there (or rusty?). Cacock is useless and Harrel is undersized. He grabbed some rebounds using his athleticism but lose to Zubac whenever they were competing for the rebound.

I think he’s the real deal. He was the youngest player (or at least college player) in last year’s draft and I had him as a lottery-level prospect. He got busted for shoplifting before the draft and that probably caused him to slide, but he has a good all-around game and shooting/shot selection and conditioning were the main areas he needed to improve. He’s definitely a much better prospect than you expect to see on a LeBron team.

I’m of the opinion that it is too early to tell. He is very young and this is his second season. He did kill in the G league last season and has impressed the coaches. So we will see.

He so much better when he just catches and shoots, or at least I feel a lot more comfortable when he does that. When he puts the ball on the floor I get nervous.

^i hope he really finds a true identity for himself soon and so he can carve out a true specialist niche for his game like a korver or redick
